This is just incredible. The sweet sound of superchargers at a full treetop pass. The P51 and the 190 on each other is a sound that only a few are familiar with. The sounds and sights of these famous aircraft in action , is a very rare experience. This is truly a treat for all ages to see these aircraft in historic display flying right before your eyes. Imagine the smell of that high octane exhaust spitting from that 75 year old engine turning down the runway before takeoff…..

+Zenon Kolacz There are a couple of slow-moving Dora projects but nothing close to flying. More likely a Flugwerk replica Fw-190 will get converted to Dora standard and fly first.

No. These WWII planes were built for mass production, using very simple designs. The F-22 is a monster designed to use as much rare material and circuitry as possible. I'm really not seeing anyone tuning their kit built F-22 on the weekends. Without a HUGE maintenance and support team, the F-22 is just an expensive hunk of money sink.

Damn that A8 is a thing of beauty. My 5 faves of WW2 are .1 The incomparable and revolutionary ME262( the swallow.)2. The FW190 A8. 3. THE BF109G 4 THE P47 T BOLT AND 5. THE A6M ZERO. 3 big radials ' a liquid cooled fuel injected wonder and a ahead of its time Jet.

Was es alles gibt.... deren Existens war mir bis eben auch noch nicht bekannt! Klasse Kamera Arbeit Olli und sehr schöne Warbirds! Die doppelsitze spanische Bf-109 ist vor wenigen Tagen in Manching gelandet, hat dort ein Kumpel von mir fotografiert. Ist schon interessant zu sehen wie viele flugfähige Bf-109 noch vorhanden sind, bisher war mir nur eine EADS Maschine und ein spanischer Nachbau bekannt... :D Daumen hoch Olli und schönen Sonntag! ;)

Obligatory “man, they don’t make ‘em like they used to,” comment. Fighter plane designs were so beautiful back then. I’m guessing modern radar and stealth tech forced them to change the look. These are timeless machines!

I disagree, I think modern fighters have a certain sleek aggressive look to them that I just love, and remember even back then aircraft designs were made for function not for looks, every design choice is made for its uses!

The first Messerschmidt 109 is a former Spanish aircraft with a "Rolls Royce Merlin" engine! Before the war ended, Spain had bought the plane for production, but didn't get the engine delivered before the Russians had rolled over the factory, making engines for it, so they managed to change it to use an English engine. And the first prototype in Germany also had a Rolls Royce because the D.B. wasn't finished then.

+EnglishTurbines One of the Flugwerk Fw-190 replicas. The engine choice is the Russian/Chinese ASh-82 radial, except a couple of customers used the R-2800. Just one WW2 original Fw-190 is airworthy, and a second original is almost done for flight.

When that FW190 stopped it prop, you can get a real good look at just how wide those prop blades are. That's how they compensated for not having 4 blades in order to keep the synchronization gear for the nose guns.

Hallo Knight Flight Video Kann es sein das die eine " BF109" in Wahrheit eine spanische HA-1112 ist ??? Nach meinem Wissen müsste sie einen Rolls Royce Motor haben. Man erkennt es leicht da die Daimler Benz DB 603/ 605 sogenannte A-Motoren sind und die Kurbelwelle bei diesen Motoren oben ist und die Abgasstutzen unten. Viele Grüsse Martin

Ja, die "Bf 109" mit RR Merlin Motor ist eine zum Zweisitzer umgebaute HA-1112 Buchon. Sie kann aber bei Bedarf auch mit einem DB605 Motor ausgestattet werden. Mehr Infos dazu finden sich auf der Homepage und Facebook Seite vom Hangar 10.

+Buffalo Soldiers The Merlin was pretty good with fuel at 60 gal / hr. With drop tanks the range was very good.
