よくある質問：半自動で動くスプリングポイントについて FAQs : The junction Switch seems in Wrong position But Train can Pass 　　　【 About ""Spring Point"" the Self-restoring switch 】　 ""Spring Point"" the Self-restoring switch are sometimes used at train Passing-Loop on Japanese Local-Lines. It switches itself on with the force of a spring . 　 ●When the train enters the loop , 　The point is switched to its Normal-position , 　and each train proceeds to its own track to go. ●When the train leaves the loop , 　The rail is pushed by the wheel and the point is switched. 　like this : ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/i5nYh4x6n650n5I ) After a time , The springs and dampers switch the point to Normal-position. So It allows train to exit a loop without needing to change the points. 　 However , For safety reasons , It is used on slow Local-Lines with Speed Limits , and also has the disadvantage of wearing-out the wheels. 　 Most of these Normal-position are Left ( In Japan ) , But for the purpose of reducing the time it takes to block a Crossing , Some of them face the Opposite direction. ( They're just the difference between : Left and Right ) 　日本のローカル線における行き違い駅では「スプリングポイント」( 発条転轍器 ) が使われていることがある。これはバネとダンパーによって自動的に転換する分岐器である。 ●通常、ポイントは定位に向いているので　駅に入るときは普通の分岐器のように定位へ進む。 ●駅から出るとき、ポイントの反位側から逆方向に進入するときは　車輪の力でレールを押しのけて [ 割り出して ] ポイントを転換させる。　ポイントは時間が経つと、バネとダンパーによって定位に戻るので　外部からのポイント操作が不要になる。定位＝列車が通常向かって行く方向反位＝その逆方向＝向かって来る方向　ただし、車輪の摩耗と安全性の観点により速度制限が掛かるので、高速路線には向かない。　進行方向左側に入線させるものが多いが、構内踏切を塞ぐ時間を短くしたい理由であえて逆を選択している所も見られる。左右の違いだけなのでモノとしては同じである。

よくある質問：線路脇の青い点滅するランプ――勝手踏切について FAQs : The Blue flashing lights at the side of the track 例 : 3:25 , 7:47 , 24:42 It's a signal to warn people that a Train is Approaching. Normally, these lights are installed for Line-Maintenance-Workers . But In Enoden , it's set up for the Ordinary people , Because they cross where there are no crossings. Of course, this is an ""Unauthorized-Crossing"" . People may need it for their lives, but have to use it at their own risk. 線路脇で青く点滅しているランプは、列車接近を知らせる装置。通常こういったものは保線作業員の為に設置されるものだが、江ノ電では踏切の無い所を横断する一般人向けに設置されている。いわゆる「勝手踏切」ってやつで、ここでも100か所ぐらいあるという噂。生活の為に非公認で設置されているが、利用は自己責任。

I did this same trip last year. Good to see it again from the drivers viewpoint. Thumbs up ! The train was very crowded, lots of tourists and locals were visiting the area.

This was one of the cooler rides you've posted. Reminded me of my riding trains in outer Tokyo in the late '70s. Being in 4K makes it so much more enjoyable.

Wonderful! I love seeing these historic at-grade lines that pass within feet of surrounding houses. And throw in a beach, a tunnel, and some street running to boot!
