Awesome fractal! For viewing in VR these videos should be at a higher framerate like 60fps or more. There's a lot of studder and strobing with this video at it's current framerate in VR. Or maybe the render times would be too long? The ultimate would be this video at 4K, 90fps and Stereoscopic 3D! How long would it take to render that?

Thanx for the feedback :-) 25fps 4K video took about 15 days to render. So 55 day for 90fps and 110 days for 90fps + stereo ;-) 60fps would create another problem: even at 25fps the bitrate (information per second) is too low to handle the complex structures of a fractal. thats why compression kills a lot of details in this video :-( with 60fps the available bits would got down by factor 2 for each frame. I think there is only one real solution: slower movement of camera. At the moment I prepare my 360° Caleidoscope Eye to have the number of frames doubled. It will still be 25 fps but I hope it will be with less studder/strobing.

Seems like the AO is low, or are you using focus feature? Anyway it would look nice if view distance was better. Perhaps carry a light or 2 along. I made the most incredible fractals a few years ago but lost the formulas!! Always save on flash drive! Just got a 4k setup complete now so can't wait to make some in 4k. It'll take weeks to find good formulas again. I was using hybrids in 1.17 I did post videos of the best ones here.

Well I use DoF effect as focus feature. Beside that there is an invisible positional light flying in from of the camera to create a kind of pocket lamp effect. Thats why I keep the more distant parts darker. Sideeffect of this: video compression kills most details of these parts. Try this 360° Dark version: veer.tv/videos/2175 or download a less compressed file via WearVR (link in description). Plus contrast of display / monitor should not be too high.
