Final Fantasy 12 is my most favorite final fantasy series.. But in my eyes it didn't age very well, because it was not mean to be that way base on artistic design..but overall i still bought the game for my ps4 pro and ps5

FF12 is the most photorealistic out of the games tho. Sure it has style with clothing, hairstyles and even racial features (everyone non-named in Ivalice is light brown/blonde-haired but tan since Tactics) but designs are less cartoonish in 12 than in any games before and arguably, 13 too.

You are entirely incorrect as I have a Pound cable, along with one of those cheap PS2toHDMI things and it looks nowhere as sharp as component. The other two are upscalers, essentially taking the sub 480p image and stretching them to 4K.

As for the "Moody look", I think you're partly right in that the lighting model has changed and they may be using updated shaders, and better lighting algos altogether, tho a lot of the included darkness may be a sign that they have realtime ambient occlusion at work this time around.

Nice job on the comparison through PCSX2. Normally it's hard to tell texture differences from an old 480p video compared to a 1080p video but rendering it through emulation is an excellent idea and I hope you guys do it more often with remaster graphic comparisons :)

Forcing anisotropic filtering and trilinear filtering in PCSX2 would likely have made quite a lot of the textures look a bit better (not massively, but still noticeable). Also having PCSX2 render above your resolution and scale down further improves quality (as it basically works as a form of antialiasing).

I did some gaming on PCSX2 with a few games, always increasing the internal resolution and applying the proper widescreen patches with the correct aspect ratio, and the graphics really look beautiful and the textures get an enormous bump in resolution. There seems to be something wrong with your graphics for the emulated version of FFXII. They still look quite crap to me even though you say you upped the resolution. Maybe something went wrong because they should look much better than that once you change the internal resolution, and you can go way past 1080p. Also you don't seem to be using any anti aliasing.

There's no excuse for 30 fps. Not reworking some core fundamentals might be an excuse for a quick, cheap remaster you can buy for $20. This game is pretty much that same kind of cheap remaster, except they're asking $50 for it instead of $20. The game just seems to be rendered at a higher resolution natively and that's pretty much it.

I know that 2080 and 2080ti were made for 4k gaming, but those cards are made to run the most hardcore games at 4k, the requirements for the pc version of this game are very low, so I have a pc with rtx2060, ryzen 5 2600 overclocked it to meet the 2600x specs, and 4x4gb 2666mhz crucial ballistix, can I run it at 4k with no problem taking in mind the rcmd requirements are very low? For info shadow of the tomb Raider runs at 80+fps in highest settings in 1080p, 40-50 in 2k at ultra, and haven't tried 4k because obvious reasons, but considering that shadow of the tomb raider requires fairly high specs to run compared to this, can I run the pc version of this game in 4k 60fps+?

I still don't get the point of the stupid PS4 pro and Xbox one X. Yeah, they can play some games better but not every game. They aren't even being used to their full potential in some cases which sucks. It's just a battle of Tflops and GHz, nothing more. Games like GTA V don't have a pro patch and will likely never receive one so it's wasted power in many cases. At least when I get a new GPU on PC I can crank my games to higher settings and I can immediately see a benefit, no matter which game. I like how you acknowledge the comparison between the PS2 and PS4/Pro versions both running on HDTVs. I have the original FFXII (PS2) game, and I play it exclusively on PS2 and have it hooked up to a 26" WideScreen SDTV running component cables, and still to this day, I am very impressed with the visual fidelity SquareEnix achieved with the game! In closing, I will say that with my aforementioned setup, the game looks MUCH better than on most HDTVs (including the one shown in this video), and can be quite comparable to the PS4/Pro HD Remaster. Playing the game at its native resolution on a native resolution display running the highest quality setup possible can be astounding if you ever get the chance to experience it. :)

This is pretty exciting actually, I'm currrently playing this on PCSX2, I know there are some shaders you can download but when I saw it running on ps4pro I was impressed. Not because of the system but because of the difference that bloom and ambient occlusion add to the game. The game looks like the CGI cutscenes. I dont have a ps4 though, and dont intend to get one for a while yet, but still thought I would chirp in. PS watched the video with no audio.

They ran a photoshop filter on the textures to "up-rez" them ;) And 50 are they crazy ? The game is long true.... but for these money you could get a Wither 3 and a Dragon's Dogma if playtime is your poison. Dunno. Square does shit like that sometimes. PS. As Photoshop filters go - they have done a decent job at least - there is quite a bit of detail preserved.

Good video. One thing wrong, this game has no issues on emulation at 60FPS. Here is the thing, there are some games out there that tie framerate to some of the effects, but that is very few games in reality, anymore anyway. I see this excuse all the time, but the game does not have any speed issues on an emulator. Don't get me wrong, the better textures are almost worth it alone. Also, IZJS version is on the emulation. Totally played through the game with this one time before. If you are going to talk about emulators, might as well make it accurate.

Looks like an oil painting to me and the art direction shines even more, I think is pretty rad what they've acomplished with this remaster. Nevertheless, they could bump the draw distance to the limits in exchange of the frame rate lock in 30 but having both limitations, I don't know just saying.

Why the Fuck do publishers keep giving virtuous these remasters. Ffx looked like shit and they completely butchered the arkham games. This game should technically run at 4K 60fps on the pro

Perfectly comfortable with the 30fps (although a 60fps option would have been great to see). Remaster is looking very nice although some of the textures mainly on ground/floors and edifices look a bit off and could have benefited from more shading/occlusion of some sort to break them up to look more grounded and natural. I remember being very surprised at this underrated FF and loving the story and all of the sidequest hunts. Will jump back in as FF 15 left a gaping hole with expectations and I know the this will not disappoint.

Obviously not at high-end PC powerful, but maybe better than PS4. Especially the Pro. But then again, we don't know and I like the PS4. But it does have its problems.
