Before you comment, remember that the ‘magical hole with the orange marking on the side of the xbox trick’ wouldn’t eject the disc in my situation... that’s why this video was made. You can read the description, which clearly states “Use this as a last resort” and “the magical paper clip eject method wouldn’t eject the disc”. People obviously are not reading the description, based on the amount of comments I receive that still reference this “quick fix”.

I had this exact thing happen just the other day. Getting to the point where I was thinking I'd have to follow these instructions. But I grabbed a disk I wasn't overly fond of pushed it 3/4 of the way in and pressed the eject disc and slowly pulled it out and it spat both out.

The paper clip didn't work for me so I did what you did and it worked. Thanks man. The only think I didn't like was that you had the Xbox out of frame on some of the uninstall

What is the reason to connect yourself with a groundstrap to an ungrounded device ? :) You have to be connected to something that is actually grounded.

So was this the end of the optical drive issues? Would you consider this a permanent fix? I just tore down my offerup acquired xbox one x. to pull a stuck disc I was not informed about. I would love to know I have fixed this thing. I asked the seller to bring it over and test it out before I buy it. He complied and I ended up handing over 250 including 10$ for gas. I had set up a 32” LED tv w/ an HDMI ready and he hooked it up deleted his profile and I never even thought about trying a physical disc.

The "telephone cable" is actually an anti-static wrist strap. It prevents static from harming any components. I use it since the only place I can work is carpet. I should've explained that in the video...

Just keep clicking the eject button over and over and over again and eventually you will see the disc poke it’s head out. And it might only go out a little and go back in. So rinse and repeat and be ready to grab the disc as soon as it pops out far enough to grab it.

My xbox one currently doesn't work if i try to inserted disc. I have to lift the console approximately 30 degrees to insert the disc. I would like to know if i really need the new replacements part for that issues? Should i buy the new drive for replacement?

So, I took my Xbox apart, since it wasn't playing 2 discs that were perfectly fine. (I did not fix the problem) But putting it back together, I had the power ribbon still attached, because other videos said not to mess with it, but I accidentally pulled out where it attaches to the Xbox. From what I could tell, it wasn't torn or anything. So I stuck back to the Xbox, and put it together. But the power, eject, and perhaps the sync button did not work. If I try to open it, and readjust it, could I fix it, or is it damaged, and need to be replaced?

Could a software update do this to the hardware? Could they brick one or fry something via a command after an update? We all know they tried to do away with disks. My Xbox one x won't eject. Admittedly I've been playing Ark online for years. Couldn't remember the last disk I'd used.

Ramiro Valdez Microsoft only makes the disk drives with so many working hours on them before they mess up...if you order a new one its not a plug and play you have to switch out the circuit board with the motor attached.

did you unplug the power and have it off when doing so? if you had it on and/or plugged in unplug it wait 1 minute and plug it back in and power it up

This just happened to me, this is a hardware issue get it replaced next time if you can, i got my disc out by keeping pressing eject (had to press like 50 times) and it eventually came out, it will be distressing tho as it will sound like its scratching the hell out of the disc but it will come out fine (it did for me anyways)

Jade Tucker good job. This one had me missing a disc from a 100 dollar Farscape collection. I tried everything. I mean everything. Went months with disc stuck. Just bought a new XboxOne S and was about to buy a new Farscape collection or buy the season with disc I was missing. And trust me I saw all these vids and thought oh I’d have to pull apart my XboxOne and I didn’t want anything to do with it. Now that got my new XboxOne I was getting a little pissed about my Farscape disc and was about to pull my old Xbox apart when I noticed your little comment. Which no one ever mentioned. Or no one really suggested. But it hella worked. Haha.

There is a small hole next to the eject button on the side and it's labeled with a orange sticker out a 1.5mm Allen key in it and apply pressure and the disc will pop out you don't need to take it apart lol

I had this problem like this and I think this is another way because it worked for me but restart your whole Xbox and then when you turn it on wait a couple of seconds then press the eject button then bam it ejects your disc!!

If you tried to turn it on with the metal screw inside the metal cage, you probably fried the motherboard. At that point, you will probably just have to purchase a new Xbox, as even if you were to replace the motherboard, from what I've read, the motherboard and Blu-ray drive are linked, meaning that each motherboard and Blu-ray drive only will work with the original factory parts. I'm not sure if that's understandable (in my words)...It would be like if you had your kidney replaced with a donors', and your body rejected the donor's kidney...and every other replacement kidney. The inclusion that you smelt something burnt only reinforces my assumption that the motherboard was shorted by the metal screw. You may try calling customer support, but I doubt they'll do anything since your warranty is void after you open your console (and tear the warranty sticker). Sorry about your luck!

I'm not too familiar with Microsoft's warranty policies. I do have a doubt that they would refuse to work on it since it had already been tampered with. Your best bet is to call them and see what they offer in this situation.

Try re-seating the connection between the front panel (where the power and eject buttons are) and the small board outside the metal chassis of the Xbox.
