@@LivingWalks Thanks for the great Video. My Mum grew up in Glasgow, and i was last there in 1977, Which was called " The Silver Jubilee ". My Dad was home in New York and Happy we were in Glasgow, because " The infamous David Berkowitz" [ aka] ( The Son of Sam serial Killer was running amok during a massive Power Outage in NYC during the Heatwave of Summer 1977!!!! I had a great time meeting my Relatives in Glasgow & Travels to Loch Lomond and Edinburgh castle. The Fish and Chips were so Delicious!!!! And the Confections ( candy in the states) is better than anything America puts out!!! [ Edinburgh Rock, Smarties, Cadbury Flake, and many others!!! The beverage known as [ Iron Brew ] was also better tasting than Coke/ 7-UP/ Pepsi etc......

Glasgow is a lot more beautiful than most people realise. Very underrated in comparison to Edinburgh. The architecture is extremely interesting and diverse all throughout the city. The grid pattern layout also makes it fairly unique for a UK city. This video only shows the Eastern and southern parts of the city centre as well as the Merchant City. So many other beautiful areas to explore. I look forward to watching your other Glasgow vids.

I was born and brought up in Glasgow, went to school and university there, 20 years ago I moved 200 miles to the north but still visit Glasgow to see friends and family. After my visit one of the best things was watching Glasgow disappear on my rear view mirror as I begin my 5 hour drive back home to the Highlands, a place I love. Having watched this film, I now realise that my city of birth is no longer and ugly duckling, she has a depth of beauty and charm I have never seen before. Its clean and contemporary with a European cafe culture, its also much more racially and socially diverse, the artwork on the buildings are incredible, next time, I have to stay longer.

The bar which is below the mural is The Clutha Bar which was the scene of a very tragic accident. A police helicopter fell from the sky and went through the roof of the bar and killed a lot of people. This was a few years ago. You can find lots of information online about both of these things i mentioned.

Thank you so much for this @@wullymc1, and for introducing Charles Rennie Macintosh to those who are not familiar with him. Such an important and influential figure in so many ways. My brother who is an architect introduced me to him at a young age and I find him really very special and unique. All the very best to you. You are very fortunate to live in such a special city.

All things considered, the city's not doing too badly by the looks of it. This being home of the Glasgow kiss (headbutt) and Glasgow shower (spray of deodorant) after all.

Good grief Joshua, I didn't know that either what a sad tale. Are you from the city?
@Rabonics4 жыл бұрын
Was a police helicopter, fell out the sky with engine failure on top of the pub killing I think 10 people.
@colinmacdonald18694 жыл бұрын
And you also walked past the place where a rogue bin lorry killed six people a year later. In an almost exact reenactment of a scene from World War Z. As in the actual scene was filmed there four years before the accident. I mean crikey, what if you escaped being pancaked by a helicopter crashing into your bar stool, only to be killed by a chance re-enactment of a particularly crap zombie movie.

One thing you WILL find (not like when I was younger) people WILL, and do, walk STRAIGHT AT YOU, and expect YOU to move, even though they went out of their way to do so. NOBODY watches where the hell they're going. But then, nowadays there is a general lack of manners everywhere.
