Love this. I used to travel to Oahu quarterly for business and stayed at the Princess Kaiulani a lot of times. I took the stroll along Kalakaua often and would sometimes walk back up to the hotel on the street one up from Kalakaua and go to the Food Pantry for some Heinekens and Macadamia nuts. Great blast from the past, Thanks for posting.

That would be Kuhio Avenue…The Food pantry closed because they are building a condo there now. I think there is supposed to be retail space on the bottom, so hopefully food pantry returns!

@@walkhawaii4988 I remember seeing that street name. I recall there was a restaurant on the corner to the right of the Food Pantry, can't remember the name. The last year I was there was 2007. What a blast from the past.

My thought as well. I remember another video of this area from 6 months ago and thinking it wasn't bad in terms of crowd but obviously that was because few people were traveling there then. This is just too much and I'm sure it was worse pre-pandemic. Wish they had better planning to dissipate the crowds more. I'm sure it's not easy to fix but crowding like this really takes away much of the charm imo.
