@@Archon83 Not sure if that's exactly true. I get the impression that people visiting Japan simply don't follow cultural rules and act like literal bulls in china shops, blundering along. Japan has an incredibly rich and deep and proud culture and tourists tend to have a disregard for even the smallest things that annoy and even horrify Japanese people. Things that western people (for instance) do on a day to day basis in there own home, town, city and country may well be frowned upon in other cultures. If people visit someone elses culture, they need to do some serious homework before stepping onto that countries soil. From my experience, Japanese people will not tell you you have made a mistake but are willing (or have been) to forgive because foreigners may be unaware they have even made a mistake. Study is key at least to be socially accepted (i.e not make social blunders). Good behaviour, good manners and a bit of insight should see people through.

I am a Japanese living in Japan. There are many places within Japan that I have never been to, and sometimes when I go to local districts, I see awe-inspiring sights. I have been particularly astonished in rice farming districts where sanitation is strictly enforced down to the roadside and the water in the waterways that look like furnace-side sewage is perfectly beautiful. Hot spring areas are also thoroughly managed at the citywide level to emphasize the beauty of the water, for tourism reasons as well. And the district in this video seems to be such a miracle product of the original townscape and the subsequent thoroughness of everything for tourist reasons. I have not visited here yet, but will do so when the corona restrictions are reduced.
