4K Japan Walk - Otaru Hanazono Kitamon Shopping Street in Hokkaido - Nov 2024

This time, I walked through Hanazono Kitamon Shopping Street in Otaru City, Hokkaido, Japan.
This shopping street starts from Otaru Station, heading towards Sapporo on National Route 5, under the JR overpass.
The first store of Kitaichi Glass, a famous glass shop in Otaru, is located here. Unfortunately, it is currently closed and covered with scaffolding.
I wondered if it was going to be demolished, but it seems that they are renovating the exterior walls.
The filming took place in the morning, so the stores were not yet open, but there are several long-established stores.
However, overall, the old buildings with their shutters closed stand out.
The street lamps here are also distinctive in shape.
I don't know what they represent, but at night, the contrast between the futuristic street lamps and the old buildings creates a very unique atmosphere.

流石に此処までは観光客は来てませんね。小樽もインバウンドで運河沿いは混雑してると聞いていますが国内からも観光客が増えているとも、何にも付けても人が集まり少しでも小樽の為になる事は良い事です。

動画をご覧いただきありがとうございます❗ 撮影が朝だったため、まだ人は少ないのですが、昼時は人気の洋食屋と蕎麦屋があり、混んでいます。 その反面シャッターを閉めたままのお店も多く、寂しい感じは否めないです😢
