@@JessicaPilotGirl I feel like that would be really useful in any airplane - particularly in a single pilot situation. I often have my wife read the checklist to me when she flies with me. But when I'm alone or with a new passenger unfamiliar with aviation, I have to read the checklist myself. The call and response format of having the checklist read to you works so well.

I think it's an automatic flight engineer callback system; Used to facilitate the pilots & crew in about 2 hours of system checking and monitoring.

Excellent video, thanks! Its a wonder larger aircraft dont have this type of automated checklist in their cockpits. It would have saved a lot of lives in the past, I'm thinking of instances where flaps haven't been set for takeoff, etc.

@@juanesvilladaofficial on a modern jet there would be a checklist on the MFD as well to cross check. You do have a very valid point, but I think that could potentially be used to remedy that issue.

Unless I missed it, there was no flight control check. Had gust locks been left on, a cable issue, or some other issue, they might be dead. It was ingrained in me to always push the yoke full forward, full left deflection, pull full back, then full right deflection, then to neutral…

Unfortunately I don't fly anymore, but lots of great memories. I had the opportunity to fly down to Waxahachie, TX for an airshow 20+ years ago. I still have the poster for it! Nice to hear 5SP is still flying! I read that Hal retired this year. Good for him! I hope he's doing well! :)

There’s a knob on the bottom left of the instrument panel and you turn the knob for different parts of the checklist. Knew someone who had a citation and he let me go in the cockpit and try the checklist out. I tried a newer citation, and the auto checklist had a female voice instead. Very useful!

I do not fly jets, buy my guess is to avoid some surface control issues in case of a stuck actuator or some kind of rudder malfunction so close to the ground.

It comes off so the nose wheel steering will work and you can adjust the rudder on short final
