Amazing to see these old Copenhagen trams still running today. It’s 50 years since the last ones were replaced by buses In 1972 😥

The red-line system compared to the green-line system looked like it was completely different cities! :D The red system was very bad, even worse than Kharkiv, but the green system was very cool, mixed trains with trams and even the buildings around didn't look bad, as I said, it was like a different city.
@KT4Dani
@KT4Dani 2 жыл бұрын
Very truely words! 👍 Kharkiv was some better than the tramnetwork in the city, so in the streets of Alexandria trams only run in "better intervalls" on morning and some in evening. Between 11-17 i think there are only a hand full trams in service. The opposite are real the trams on Ramlh-Network in northeast. There are a lot of trams running all day and this are in better condition. The people are also more normal than in the southern districts. (my feeling). As you say - you can think they are two different cities. 🤭
@MohamedAhmed-gf7kq
@MohamedAhmed-gf7kq 2 жыл бұрын
@@KT4Dani its not that they are "not normal" the tram in alexandria represents the division between wealthy alexandria and working class (Poor) alexandria , the one parallel to the coast is running through the wealthy areas of alexandria where most jobs are the other one is running through the very old and often neglected areas where the old working class people lived because of its proximity to the main train station and the main city port working class people are not really as familiar with things like keeping to ones self or not being nosey sometimes but they always have a heart of gold and a genuine love towards helping others without asking for anything in return

Thank you for this video. I am from Alexandria, and for the first time I see the red tram lines from my side. I only use the modern tram line. It saddens me to see how the other part of the city is old and dilapidated, but at the same time it still preserves its originality. The tram for me and for many like me is to enjoy along the way. I just sit and listen to music The system really needs attention and renewal, but it is difficult because the tram is a public means of low income, so its cost is still very simple compared to other means of transportation for the same distances.

Fully agree but the nation is more or less a military dictatorship that doesnt care about its poorer population. Cairo itself is completely gridlocked, living spaces are tiny, 1/3rd of the population is in poverty, and all the government does is pluge itself into bankruptcy building a lavish rich man city with gaudy palaces, skyscrapers, and the worlds largest military building, 5 times the size of the Pentagon. Even some good ideas like the new 230km/h high speed rail system, have big issues as the general population likely wont be able to afford tickets, or even reach the trains since all the stations will be outside of the city centres and in places you can only reach by cars or taxis. They're really trying to create 2 different societies. One for the rich and One for the poor.

They are going to build 6 bridges for trams to increase space in the streets, and all of it will be completely seperated from the cars ways either by bridges or tunnels. Also, the frequency between each tram will be only 3 minutes (right now its 20 mins) and the speed 21 km/hr instead of the old 12km/hr and capacity should increase to 450 thousand per day instead of the current 150 thousand/day .

Frage mich sowieso, was man mit eigentlich dann nutzlosen Wagen anfangen möchte.

Its quite simple, its nationalism. Like I don't want to be mean but the 'less inteligent' individuals often hold an unnaturally high and very biased view of their home, therefore they often overlook the issues that others would see. As to why it looks like a slum, it's all based in politics. Whilst yes the trash issue is a people's problem, the lack of general sanitation, infrastructure management & maintenance and poor quality housing all comes down to the current Egyptian government.
