This was one of the best cab ride videos I've ever seen. My particular favorite portion was the last 12-15 minutes where we got a very unusual tour of a marshalling yard and some of the rarely seen "back roads" of the railroad. Thank you very much for this!

When I was stationed in Miesau West Germany in 1987, I watched The French Connection with my roommate a few times. We both loved the film, so one weekend we hopped in my car and drove to Marseille, and looked for the filming locations that appear in the beginning of the movie, and most of the sequel. Anyway, there was no Google back then, so some of the places were hard to find. We took a lot of pictures, which I lost, of course. Had a lot of fun that weekend. Met some cute French Girls. Thanks for triggering good memories 🌝

1:30 Aaaahh! It just wouldn't be France without the weeds. 56:42 That Nazi bunker isn't something you see every day when riding a train. Despite the technical difficulties (windshield, sun glare, et cetera) this is a very scenic trip through some quite varying scenery. Dans sa deuxième partie au lever du jour la luminosité n'était pas parfaite. Le trajet L'Estaque/St.Chsrles permet d'avoir une autre vision de Marseiile. Quand a la tour de la Cie Maritime d'Affrètement (CMA) ET Cie Générale Maritime (CGM) a une base très originale.

The line and some of the stations though need some serious upgrade id like to see this line Electrified and stations upgraded they seem to either have forgotten the line or are not just investing in it which could bring more passengers tourists etc. Still None the less i loved your Video and Thankyou for Posting it

Kommt auch in meine Favoriten. Ein Tipp von mir: Das Warten, während der Zug am Bahnhof hält, gehört mit zur Reise. Daher hab ich es lieber, wenn bei den Videos die Wartezeit nicht rausgeschnitten ist. -- Einfach die Videos so in voller Länge belassen. Wem es zu lang ist und er nicht warten mag, der kann ja vorwählen.

@@lorirocks777, macht gar nichts. Auch 3 Minuten sind zu verkraften. Oft steht man sogar 7 Minuten am Bahnhof und schaut gemütlich aus dem Abteil durchs Fenster, und schaut sich die Leute an wie sie vorbei gehen, schwer bepackt mit Koffer. Das ist einfach Stimmung, die dazu gehört. All das hat mich als Kind schon so beeindruckt. Auch heute ist es noch so. (selbst meine Fahrweise mit dem Auto ist dem sogar oft angeglichen, wenn ich absichtlich mit dem Auto langsam beschleunige wie ein Zug, ebenso dann auch die gleichbleibende Geschwindigkeit halten, wie ein Schnellzug. Dabei stelle ich mir vor, ich sei ein Lockführer und befände mich auf Schienen [ist natürlich scherzhaft zu verstehen] Aber es ist und bleibt die Begeisterung). Bahnfahrt ist für mich also ein vergnügliches Erlebnis, wo sogar verspätete Abfahrten mit dazu gehören.

Bonjour, déjà très belle vidéo ! j'ai 20 ans titulaire d'un BAC STI2D et j'ai pendant 2 ans enchainé les petits boulots, seulement voila j'aimerais me " poser" et j'ai cru comprendre que la SNCF cherchais des conducteurs de train CRL sur la région parisienne, après m'être renseigné, le métier pourrait tout à fait me correspondre et ses contraintes ne me dérangent pas plus que ca. Pensez vous que j'ai mes chances d'être recruté ? certains me disent que l'âge fera forcément défaut bien que je soit mature et totalement conscient de la responsabilité que cela engendre etc . Avez vous des collègues de mon âge ( 20 - 21 - 22ans ) à la conduite ou je ferais mieux d'attendre et de revenir dans quelques années ? j'ai conscience que vous n'êtes pas recruteur mais j'aimerai quand même avoir votre point de vue si cela est possible ? A bientôt je l'espère !

Il faut que la region PACA finance l' installation, à la bifurcation de LAVALDUC, une signalisation spéciale pour autoriser le changement de mode en marche des véhicules BI-Modes, qui sont très nombreux dans cette région. Pas question, en revanche, d' électrifier ce qui reste, car il faudrait le faire 1500 V DC( c' était prévu à la fin des années 1970), ça demande la mise au gabarit des tunnels, donc, opération trop rédhibitoire !

Does this train drive the whole line with diesel traction, even when its under a catenary? (it has a pantograph for 1,5kV DC). At least in Marseille you hear the diesel engine running.

The second train pictured does, as it's purely a diesel. The first train however, is hybrid and switches over.

@@lorirocks777 The first train is hybrid. SNCF must put a special signalisation, for changing mode during running. The second train purely diesel have a lot of failures, and misstakes.
