A tradição do Fogo de Artificio na Ilha da Madeira remonta ao século XVII.
A passagem de ano era assinalada com fogueiras que se acendiam, iluminando e preenchendo de cor e de brilho os lares madeirenses.
Mais tarde, no século XVIII, a comunidade inglesa residente na ilha introduziu o lançamento dos foguetes para marcar o início do Ano Novo.
Atualmente, o espetáculo de fogo-de-artifício da passagem do ano, tem uma duração aproximada de oito minutos, e está distribuída por mais de 30 postos de queima de fogo localizados no anfiteatro do Funchal, na orla marítima e baixa citadina, no mar e um na Ilha do Porto Santo.
The tradition of Fireworks on Madeira Island dates back to the 17th century.
New Year's Eve was marked with bonfires that lit up, illuminating and filling Madeiran homes with color and shine.
Later, in the 18th century, the English community residing on the island introduced the launch of rockets to mark the beginning of the New Year.
Currently, the New Year's Eve fireworks display lasts approximately eight minutes, and is spread across more than 30 fireworks stations located in Funchal's amphitheater, on the seafront and downtown, at sea. and one on Porto Santo Island.

Helho, yes yhe sound is from this firework. Maybe it's not very clear because there are so many fires going off at the same time. Compliments.
