When i was young my father was in the air force. i built about 50 airplane models for him and his friends to be displayed on his pinnacle nights. I remember building from the Kitty Hawk all the way to the C5-A Galaxy, many of which were from the Air Forces'; TAC, SAC and MAC. One of my favorites was the P-51D. I also built the Boeing B-29 Superfortress Enola Gay which as you all may know, launched from an aircraft carrier. This content reminds me of many hours building those aircraft and was rewarded of many praises from my father and his friends. This content reminded me of those blissful moments of praise. I really enjoyed this content fellas!

If anyone wants to come close to formation flying then take up sailplane flying. On a tow you have to match your tow planes position. You are taught to box the wake. What you are doing is flying in different positions around the tow plane. High position then to the right then below then to the left and then back to high tow position. All this can be done while turning too. There is even some speed adjustment when you get some slack in the tow rope. It’s definitely a challenge but once you get the hang of it very satisfying. Total concentration. Very nice point of view video.

Love the mustang. If I knew how to fly and had the money, I’d like to have one of these or a stearman. Absolutely beautiful planes.

Formation flying is stressful. WW2v vets would be flying in formation for 8 hours or more on missions.

Imagine having to do this for eight hours, but at 20,000 feet while looking out for enemy planes. You'd have to be helped out of the cockpit at the end of it.

Very, lol. I got a ride in Ho, Hun!, a P-51 in Mesa Arizona when I was 16. Got to hop in the backseat for it's quick demo flight at Williams Airfield, and then a ride to its home base at Falcon Field where my father met us and picked me up for the incredibly boring car ride home 😂 I did have a headset on, but I took them off for minute during the flight home to hear that sweet engine purr.
