Running between Montreal and Toronto, the CN Kingston Subdivision is one of the busiest rail lines in all of Canada. Not only does it provide a link between Montreal to the rest of Western Canada for CN Freight Trains, but it also services the dozens of VIA Rail Corridor trains per day. During my trip to Toronto this Summer, I ventured out East of Toronto onto the Kingston Sub for the day. I didn't expect too much, but this line sure is busier than I thought! Originally owned entirely by the CN Railway, the Pickering to Toronto section of the line has been sold to Metrolinx. CN Freight Trains diverge onto the York Subdivision at Pickering, exclusively for freights.
I focused most of my filming at the Oshawa station, as well as including a few clips from the Metrolinx section of the Kingston Subdivision. Was only out for the Afternoon in Oshawa, but managed to get a decent about of freight and passenger train action!
