4K Scenic Drive | Central Tokyo to Mt. Fuji (Fujiyoshida City & Narusawa Village)

A morning drive from Central Tokyo to Mt. Fuji.
The drive starts at Rainbow Bridge on the Tokyo Metropolitan Expressway and heads to Fujiyoshida and Narusawa Village on the north side of Mt. Fuji, Japan's highest mountain.
It snowed the previous day, and the scenery gradually became snowy as we approached Fujiyoshida.

Very cool. Mt Fuji is one of the most beautiful looking mountains in the world. Little wonder the japanese people revere it.I never been to Japan but my dad was in Japan in the canadian army for training for the korean war but I don't know if he visted Mt. Fuji. My mom's uncle is buried I think in Yokohama he died as a POW during WW2.

Lots of factors. 1) Best transport system in the world. Mostly people transit by public transport. Metro, trains, busses, trams, etc. 2) Video recorded in early morning. 3) In Tokyo I believe he was on a paid highway road

1. Its probably early in the morning. 2. They have one of the best metro/train system which helps lessen the usage of cars. 3. He is driving on expressway which is not free. 4. Actually population of tokyo itself is just around 10 mil.

The Chuo Expressway is a mountain road, so in the morning there is a lot of fog from the river that runs parallel to the road. This winter is warm and there is really little snow.

I'm sorry to say this, but aside of the cleanliness and tidiness, it's undeniable that the majority of the japanese urban sprawl is a soulless husk and this has been aknowledged even in manga and anime. Spotless to a fault, it has an almost mechanical veneer that I find dehumanizing. It seems japanese architects and urban planners, especially in the 80s and 90s had a mad love for the straight ruler. God forbid they use curves or add a touch of green if concrete piles can be placed instead.

Except for gorgeous Tokyo skycrapers, this Mt. Fuji video was disappointing. The peak was trashed by city electric towers and lamp posts, industrial buildings and a town that's just there to reap profits from Mt. Fuji, which looked rather small and not as imposing as Los Andes 6000+mtrs. monster peaks. Chimborazo volcano dwarfs twice Mt. Fuji.
