4K Shooting: HK USP Elite and USP Expert 9mm with Merkle Tuning weights

Putting some rounds through some of my favorite guns, the USPs Elite and Expert with Merkle Tuning weight additions. The weights add heft to keep muzzle flip and recoil down, and make the guns feel almost like steel-frame customs. The Expert has a Dawson Precision .28" fiber optic which is great. Probably going to put one on the Elite.

What exactly do you hunt with that? Or do you mean as a animal defense hunting hunting in nature or what exactly, I am not familiar with using handguns for hunting in anything other than animal

This handgun is good enough to hunt deer with within about 75 yards. Popping coyotes in the AZ desert is what I'll use it for most.

Which was better, This or the X6 Sig? My assumption would be that the Sig feels smoother because of the weight, but recoil would be about even due to the polymer soaking it up on the HK.

Hey, Love your vids and because of you I want a GT9 so bad. I missed out on a local sale cause I hesitated. One suggestion is I think it would be awesome to see your groupings from some of your shooting just so we can all see just how accurate these super rare exotica guns shoot with the same shooter. Plus you have an awesome 4K camera, just need a good mic to capture the bang. RE: the USP, I have a Custom Sport, the elite looks like the same sights. Do you find it difficult to get a good sight picture due to the narrow rear sight and lack of dots? I read people buy new rear sights or the actually dremel the rear sight to be wider so it's easier to get a sight picture. Thanks for all your vids so far!

@@Jc-ks5lx Hey. I actually ended up selling the Elite. Never even fired it. It was a beautiful gun. But I just knew that it was a little too big for what I wanted it for. I was looking for a smaller carry gun. So ended up buying a couple of USP compacts in 45.

Would you say that the elite is actually more accurate than the mark23? It does have a longer Barrel but I still would like to know your input.

Both would probably be more accurate than 99.9% of the shooters behind them. I've owned the Expert (Not elite) and the Mark 23. The Expert/Elite or more target pistols instead of tactical ones. If you are looking for a target pistol get an Expert or Elite. Want something that will function on Mars? Get the Mark 23.

I let people shoot both of mine. In my experience, people tend to shoot vastly better with the Mark 23 than they do the Elite. It probably has to do with the thiccc grip and the flat trigger that limits the shots people pull.

@@LifeSizePotato Now it's the opposite. Everyone wants the Expert. Almost impossible to find them in 9mm. Elites are selling for around 1000 on Gunbroker.

@@nerychristian Elites in 45acp are selling for $1000 because HK imported a bunch a couple years ago, the 9mms are still pretty pricey and rare since they stopped importing them a long time ago. I see more Experts in 9mm than Elites for sale usually. (I think there are even a couple on HKPro at the moment.)

Keith from D East if you an IPSC type guy, just get both because it feels like 22lr. but if you just a range guy, it's your choice between compensator or tuning weight, each have their benefit though

It will not fit a VP9, only the USPs they are designed for (Expert and Elite). They are extremely worth using, in my opinion. Muzzle rise and recoil are basically gone.

I just bought an Expert 9mm (Dated2014) and noticed in the manual that earlier versions were sporting a tactical front sight but now I see they swaped'em for the Elite front sight. Any one know when they made the change? or why? Any one else noticed this?

+grantlee77 Yes, but I prefer to use the newer all-steel magazines. They're incredibly well built and help balance the gun nicely.

The Elite is the best shooting USP by far. The Expert is next best, and the Tactical is close. I'd say Tactical if you want to use a silencer, or Expert if not. (Elites are really hard to find.)

+Jeff Crout They last a long time, many many thousands of rounds. I've never had one fail. Even if I did, the gun works without them, and they're cheap and easy to replace.
