I was with my dad in the late '90s, when I helped him choose a USP Tactical. We went shooting a number of times over the years and always took it along. In 2009, I inherited it. From day one, right out of the box until today: zero malfunctions. I trust it fully.

The O-ring is to increase accuracy. It centers the barrel in the slide exactly the same way every time. I've added O-ringed barrels to a couple of my pistols in the past, and the accuracy always improved. I used to have a USP .45 Compact. It was a great pistol, and I especially liked the DA/SA trigger system with cocked & locked capability. That's how I usually carried it, but I liked being able to put it in DA mode when appropriate.
@Tore2993 жыл бұрын
2:04 The USP .45 Tactical manual suplement states that the O-ring is there so that the barrel and the slide locks with each other the same after each cycle of the slide. The barrel not locking consistently is a problem with many pistols utilizing John Browning's tilting barrel locking system and hurts the pistols inherit accuracy slightly. This can be solved by making a pistol with very tight tolerances (like a Les Baer 1911) or using other methods like using the O-ring HK did with different USP models. If I remember correctly the USP Tactical, Expert and Elite all have the O-ring. The USP .45 Tactical is one of my favorite pistols. Especially fun with a suppressor.

But I'd love to score an HK in 45 some day, especially this one. Took me a while to warm up to HK's as I wasn't too impressed with the P30 I rented and VP9 I owned. But I now have a USP40C police trade-in that, to me, is a beauty in every way, holster wear and all!

Love my USP Match in .45 ACP. Also my Expert in 9x19. In Germany the USP, even the more expensive Elite, Expert and Tactical, counts more as a cheaper pistol. Most sportshooters buy pistols in the price range of 2000 € plus, like SIG X5 / X6, Custom 1911´s and so on. It´s because we are limited in the number of pistols we are allowed to possess. Everything is registered. Buying and selling comes with a lot of bureaucracy. So, most people try to buy the best they can get, after they get their permission to buy one. :-(. I have also an old S&W 669, buyed for 120 €. If I want to buy a new pistol, I have to sell her, but my heart belongs to that gun, because it was my first real handgun. The cost for the bureaucracy were higher than the price of the gun, and I´ve shot ammo worth more than five times the price of the gun through her barrel. Ridiculous :-D
@johnyoungs74533 жыл бұрын
What's ironic is, like Canada, Germany makes some of the best pistols in the world, yet they don't let their own "citizens" own them..! Personally-speaking, if I lived in Germany, I'd get one of those guns with multiple barrel/caliber setups. They count as only one gun, but by swapping barrels, you can shoot different calibers. A 1911 .45ACP pistol with a .22LR upper assembly would be a good combination to have.

As others have stated, the O ring (near the barrel’s muzzle) is designed to enhance accuracy, by reducing slide-to-barrel “play.” One way to conceptualize this is to consider a precisely fitted 1911A1’s barrel bushing, which is similarly designed to ensure fine accuracy by reducing barrel play. Incidentally, I have owned a .45 ACP USP Tacical for 15+ years, and it is a GREAT autoloader, which actually feels and carries a lot smaller than it is.

I still like this more than the HK45. The USP .45 Tactical is definitely not only my favorite HK pistol, but also my favorite pistol in .45 ACP. The FN FNX-45 Tactical is a close second. The only thing I think the USP .45 Tactical needs is a rail adapter for a good flashlight-laser sights (personally, I want to see it with the Surefire XLV2 when it comes out to go all operator), and a good set of tritium suppressor-height night-sights.
@kaiul29675 жыл бұрын

I bought the usp 45c because I knew cc would be a lot more comfortable with it, but every now and then I regret not getting that dang on tactical. Plus it had extras. The usp series are tanks, workhorses, go to war, no compromise pistols. I just wish the da trigger on the da/sa variants was a little lighter

Nice video, I went with the HK45. I haven't shot the USP, but after buying the P30 on a whim I decided to go with the HK45 for the similarities.
