Hi! A few questions to make a comparison with french motorway. The distance is 550km according to the Google maps link ... : -How long did you really take? 6 hours or more. ? -How much did the tolls gate cost you? The maximum speed is 100/110km /H it seems to me on the highways. thank you.

I took a detour to go to central Nagoya, 3rd largest city in Japan. So the cost is more expensive than the normal route that most drivers chose. In my route, about 8 to 9 hours 15100JPY Speed limit is basically 100km If using the fastest route from Tokyo to Osaka About 6-7 hours 11300 JPY Speed limit 100/120km The toll will be more cheaper on weekend or midnight.

@@DashcamRoadshow Yes normally we go by Yokkaichi / Koka /Otsu.we win 50km according to Maps. In France for equivalence. -Paris Valence by A6/A7 ,(552km) about 5-6h 43€ / 5300 JPY -Paris - Bordeaux by A10 (586km) about 6h30 56.30€ / 6900JPY Speed limit 130km/h (110km/h in cities) The price does not change according to the hour but only the category of vehicles. The best...germany.....no toll...no speed limit out of the cities.

wow very reasonable. one reason Japanese toll is expensive is, Japanese road construction costs a lot because we have to make a lot of tunnels as Japan is mountainious country and no flat field.

@@DashcamRoadshow that sure...^^ But in france we have expensive roads as well.... Our most expensive highways are either A86 "duplex tunnel" tunnels (between 6.80 and 15 € for 10 km, price varying according to the time of day as in Japan), A14 between Orgeval and La defense CBD (8.30 € for 18km with multiple tunnels under cities) ... and motorways in the mountains especially the Alps like the A40 or A41 (1 € to 1.50 € for 10 km on average)

2x timewarp ISO Max: 1600 Color: Flat Yes, it sometimes shuts down, especially in a long recording. so I use 2 cameras when I go on a long drive like this. when a short drive, like in Tokyo, I just start over if a shutdown occurs.

Japanese highways are tolled and a bit expensive.

I think it's because there is the other highway system (Shin Tomei & Shin Meihan EXPWY) that runs in parallel with this highway and connects Tokyo and Osaka as well. The both highways are connected with each other at the several JCTs to function as the alternative route for each other. Secondly, Shinkansen connects Tokyo & Osaka in 2.5 hours, most of passgengers choose it instead of highway busses that connect the both cities in 8 hours.
