Join us on a 4K virtual forest hike along a forest section of the St James Way Walkway in New Zealand!
The St James Walkway is a 66-kilometer trail located in the beautiful South Island of New Zealand. The trail starts at the Lewis Pass and winds its way through the stunning St James Conservation Area, passing through beech forests (where we are in this video), river valleys, and mountain ranges.
As you embark on this virtual hike, get ready to witness some incredible Beech forests. The St James Way Walkway is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including red deer, chamois, and wild pigs. Whilst I didnt see one in this video you might even spot a kea, New Zealand's native alpine parrot, if you adventure through this nature area.
The scenery is truly breathtaking, with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, valleys, and forests. The hike takes you through a diverse range of landscapes, from river crossings and alpine meadows to dense forests and open grasslands.
The flora and fauna of the St James Conservation Area are also a highlight of this virtual hike. The area is home to a variety of plant species, including the native beech forests, tussock grasslands, and sub-alpine shrublands. In spring and summer, the hills come alive with vibrant wildflowers and native birdlife.
Whether you're an experienced hiker or just looking for a relaxing virtual escape, the St James Way Walkway offers something for everyone. So put on your hiking boots and get ready to explore one of New Zealand's most beautiful and diverse landscapes from the comfort of your own home.
