Welcome to Schony747 trains on Wednesday.
The 6th of June 2020 saw former V/Line Passenger Diesel Locomotive A60 named Sir Harold Clapp make it's first mainline run in over 7 years! The mainline run was an un powered or dead attached run from Dynon in Melbourne to The Seymour Railway Heritage Centre as A60 officially entered preservation.
The last run for A60 was on April 26th 2020 when morning commuter service from Bacchus Marsh arrived at Southern Cross Station Melbourne. The locomotive has been stored at various locations since. Both A60 and A62 were offered up for preservation by Victrack - Seymour Railway Heritage Centre was successful in obtaining A60 and 707 Operations were successful in obtaining A62.
This video follows the transfer between Melbourne and Seymour at a few locations along the North East Line as A60 makes it's way into preservation. Information screens are provided throughout the presentation. Two highlights from the day - The Melbourne consist from Seymour included Victorian Railways Livery X31 which was long end leading with S303 and V/Line Passenger N463. Returning to Seymour V/Line Passenger leading The SRHC Passenger Cars and Diesel Locomotive A60 dead attached in the middle of the consist.
Planes on Friday and Trams on Saturday. Have a great Wednesday -Brenden S.
