Dumulmeori means that the two waters of the Bukhangang River flowing from Mount Geumgang and the Namhangang River originated from Geomryongso at the foot of Geumdaebong Peak in Gangwon Province are used in Chinese characters, which also refers to a place centered on a ferry in Yangsu-ri.

In the past, the ferry was very prosperous because it was the last settlement connecting Jeongseon-gun, Gangwon-do, where the waterway was located at the top of the Namhangang River, Danyang-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, and Ttukseom Island and Mapo Naru, the final destination of the waterway. After the construction of Paldang Dam, the land route began to decline, and when Paldang Dam was completed in 1973 and the area was designated as a green belt, fishing and ship construction were prohibited and the ferry function was suspended.
