Splash Mountain at Magic Kingdom Sights & Sounds in 4K | Walt Disney World Orlando Florida 2022

Enjoy some of the sights and sounds of Splash Mountain at the Magic Kingdom! Since we now know the official closing date for the ride (January 23rd 2023) I thought a sights and sounds video around the attraction was appropriate. A night version will be filmed as well very soon. This was filmed on December 3rd 2022 from around 1:30pm - 2pm

Thanks for posting this! I love Frontierland so much, it’s my fav land! Splash is one of my fav rides in the parks, and I’m so going to miss this sounds of people cheering as they zoom down that drop, and the music and animatronics, but I am also excited to see the new ride Disney has in mind. 😊

I'm not gonna lie, I have been secretly wishing they'd cancel changing Splash and give Tiana her own ride/restaurant somewhere else. But since they've announced an official closing date, obviously it's happening. I am really going to miss Splash and Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah. I am surprised they're closing it before Tron opens. This was a great video, as all your Sights & Sounds videos are!

I’ll definitely miss this ride so much! The park won’t be the same without it for me, but I’m sure I’ll eventually get used to it being gone. That will probably take a few years though lol. Thank you so much as always!

I’m sad that Splash Mountain will be changed, but I’m sure I will still enjoy the new version of the ride. I’m so excited to be there next week to see the original, one more time!!👏👏

I'm really going to miss this ride like crazy, but change is inevitable. I'm old enough to remember the animatronics from Disneyland's Splash Mountain being in the old America Sings attraction. I still miss that show, but I loved Splash Mountain and I'm sure I'll love whatever comes next.

I’m definitely optimistic about the Princess and the Frog! I think the ride will be a lot of fun for sure. I just hope they still have a bunch of animatronics throughout the ride!

I will “just miss it” with my trip in January. I have enjoyed this attraction on both coasts, and while I appreciate the musical “heritage” of the theme source, I understand the desire to both leave behind a controversial bit of IP AND bring up to date to more recent recognizable IP content (and I do like The Princess and The Frog, so looking forward to seeing what they do with it in this context). I’m not too worried about crowds on my visit as Splash was down for maintenance on my last visit, so lines should be about the same (maybe we will have the train back to take up a little of the crowd!!! I can hope/wish!!! PLUS I so want to be part of that crowd on the train for a lap or two around MK!!!!) Thank you for capturing this, 4K, with all the screams and waves!!!

Yes, I agree Rick! The train could opened within the next month so that should definitely be open by the time you come! I’ve seen the train testing so much the past month, and even more so the past 2 weeks! Can’t wait for it to be finally back. Thank you so much as always Rick😊

🤔I must be missing something. Why close before Tron opened? As a traveler, what incentive do I have to come between Feb & the opening of Tron? Nothing to absorb the crowds & what? 140 mins for HM/210 for Mines or PP? People will go, get frustrated & fight on the ferry 🤪 Nice angles & fun hearing some narration to whoever filmed, on a Saturday ....ugh LOL. So many waves though, 15 mins of fame! Look forward to night & the fireworks. That's right, start figuring out the timing considering you now CAN'T film on SpMtn. (Lol, wait long enough & they figured out your problem dear) Thx 4💜

@@CraigSiegel32 Geez, we're 2 4 2.(Speedway SMH) Previews begin mid March for Tron's opening in April. I hate the secrecy of it all! I was planning awhile for the April trip thinking it would open soon. So maddening they don't give dates & it's a cr-psh-t if you are actually there.

@@Liz.R I can only assume the trains are reopening before Splash closes. But I don’t think that’s going to solve 75 minute waits. Maybe they are thinking that Jan-Easter is slow (minus Feb break), it will give them time to counter the wait times.

I personally always assumed it would closed end of Jan/beginning of February but I also was hoping I would be wrong lol. The train should be open by the time it closes, so they probably assume a solid amount of guests will go there instead. But even with that, it’s going to be a bit of a pickle until Tron opens lol. I’m honestly not surprised that they stopped allowing filming on Space Mountain! I heard stories of phones flying out of hands and I could definitely see someone getting drilled with that during the ride. Maybe if I have a wrist strap for the camera they’ll let me film, but who knows. I’ll definitely try my best to get fireworks footage on Splash though! Thanks so much as always 😊

Hey Look, I have hated how Disney has let things go However, I thought the Frozen reboot was a damn fine ride Not too crazy about the Guardians Coaster, but can't deny it does look fun I do love the Mickey Mouse ride in the Studios, but they should have kept the movie ride So, when I heard about this being replaced with Tiana, I felt it appropriate I'm "optimistic", and hopeful they just won't screen everything, and allow the new ride to be submersed as this classic is I also find it crazy that I was there the day they broke ground for Splash Mountain I've ridden it dozens of times, and I will miss it

Closing this ride is a shame and it's not racist Uncle Remus was considered part of the white folks family and got the lead role. WDW is closing the ride because they can't cross merchandise the ride with the movie to make money pure and simple All NEW Disney films will be made with Rides to go with them and lots of merchandise. Read: Although its provenance rests in African folklore, the term "tar baby", the name of the decoy used by Br'er Fox and Br'er Bear to trick Br'er Rabbit, is viewed by some Americans as having a negative connotation towards African Americans. This controversy, among other alleged racial issues, has prevented the release of the movie on home video, or streaming service in the United States. As veteran African American animator and Disney Legend Floyd Norman stated, "The film is charming in its simplicity and sadly people tend to read too much into it. Issues that are simply not there. The 'Tar Baby' being the most notorious example. It was never meant to be a metaphor for black children, yet those with a social agenda often point to this particular story to prove their point."

Pour one out 🍺 for one of the greatest rides heading to the Magic Kingdom Hall of Fame. The design inside & out, the animatronics, the music, the smell of the water & of course-the 50 foot slide! It will join classics like Mission to Mars, If You Had Wings & 20,000 Leagues.👏🫶🖖✌️🍿

Yes, it truly was overall one of the best rides ever created in my opinion!
