It is crazy how the ride has been pretty much exactly the same since it opened! I’m gonna miss it a lot, but am looking forward to Indiana Jones! Thanks so much Norm😃

Thank you, 4K, for capturing this for posterity!! While it is not my favorite, I have enjoyed this every visit (in spite of feeling so beat-up after that rough race through the prehistoric jungle). “They're not gonna make it! They’re not gonna make it!” (but always: We made it!!…but I was obnoxious…yelling with Dr. Seeker at that point “We’re not gonna make it!” Hopefully our favorite Director and renegade scientist will have role working with Indy (We can’t lose Dr. Marsh and Dr. Grant Seeker). But…the preshow with Sala (out at DL) is fun (in spite of those who complain). I have to admit that I always feel bad for kids who like Dinos but whose parents have no idea….trauma!! It is a shame this attraction will end before they are able to complete the final effect (the Pepper’s Ghost where you see Aladar (The Iguanodon) riding on the back of your jeep). But those videos of everyone chasing Aladar through the institute are pretty funny. Side note for those unaware…this is based on IP…the 2000 movie “Dinosaur” (that is where I got the name of the Iguanodon…probabaly not the same one…but….).

This ride has always been my personal favorite at AK my entire life, so I’m really gonna miss it so much! But am very excited for Indiana Jones though, I love the one at Disneyland and it’s cool how ours here will be different! I’d be so happy if Dr. Marsh and Dr. Seeker make it into the preshow for Indy somehow haha. Thanks so much Rick!! 😃

🦕Helloo there....Dark Places and Scary Dinosaurs for a bit longer before becoming Dark Places and Scary Snakes. Thanks for sharing the queue in detail. I had forgotten to say if they were selling the vehicle in the shop, I'd be good for it if you saw it. Refurbed vehicles will be shaking, shaking and more shaking for Indy. I know this meant alot to you, so I'm glad the video came out really cool. Try and go and win a goofy stuffed animal. I heard they weren't mass produced but made specifically for this area for Disney. Thx 4 🦕💜

Yep, I am really going to miss this ride so much. It’s always been my favorite at AK, even with Pandora but I’m excited for Indiana Jones too. This is one of the only times in recent years where I’m actually excited for what’s replacing a favorite attraction/land of mine lol. I’m glad they seem to have plenty of merch in there still, maybe I’ll try to win one of those stuffed animals haha. Thank you so much Liz😃

I'm kinda glad I got to ride this one final time before they close it next year for Indy's ride (which is kinda funny given that the ride system is very similar to Disneyland's Indiana Jones ride).

The original Countdown To Extinction ride was way more intense than the toned down DINOSAUR ride we have today. I will miss this when it closes in 2026. However, this ride will always be called Countdown To Extinction in my personal Heaven and it would always be intense as it originally was. And all the animatronics and effects would always work. The original CTX will be waiting for me in Heaven. Also I will never forget the time this ride terrified me back in 2005.

I feel like the giant asteroid is a bulldozer and once it hits more bulldozers will pop out and extinct the Dinosaur ride and turn it into the new Indiana Jones ride

I always love this Dinosaur Ride so much cause I love Dinosaurs and Disney Dinosaur too. But why do they have to close it in 2026 for Indiana Jones Ride!? they could build the new ride somewhere else in Animal Kingdom like they did for Expedition Everest Ride.

They Should Expand the Park, not Destroy of what was already perfect. Big Mistake just like The Great Movie Ride. Turned into a Horrible Mickey Ride.

The dinosaurs are painted for you to see them in darkness with the naked eye. The effect is different with low-light filming, so you're not seeing it the way you would in real life.
