I agree 100% with Sean (below). I have been working on cars for over 40 years and have always been intimidated by automatic transmissions. With the help of this series I was able to diagnose and repair the burnt 3-4 clutch pack issue without any problem. SAVED ME HUNDREDES OF $$$$$. I am officially a "KZbin Certified Mechanic"!! LOL I sincerely hope Cliff is getting paid from KZbin, he deserves it!

Totally Agree.. One question would the 4L65E work in a 2000 GMC JIMMY Diamond Edition that came with a 4L60E you had said the 4L65E was basically beefier and I'm wondering if it would be better over the 4L60E. PS. Wow I remember the Power glide transmissions. Had one in my 1964 Impala SS that was unfortunately stolen by a body shop in Manhasset N.Y. back in the early 80's. Thanks Eddie.

Some trivia for the the viewers: The 55 and up bolt pattern mentioned here in the video is "55 and up Chevrolet only" type pattern. Therefore, it is not the same bolt pattern as the Pontiac, Buick and Olds during that time period. GM also made a universal case bolt pattern version that was known as PBOC for Pontiac, Buick, Olds, Chevrolet.

just had a $2700 4l60e put in my 04 silverado crew cab. (yes, it's a heavy truck) I had my stock vortec heads worked , a pretty hot cam and using a billet stall conv. (3200-3500). the trans came with all the goodies, with a lot sonnax trans parts in i and much more. but i'm not really noticing much difference from stock. it did fix some driveability issues associated with the stall. it'll almost hit a lil 2nd gear but nothing like i remember with 350 turbos and 700r4's. but i was warned from the guy who built it, not to expect a real hard bark due to using a stall. So, I guess it took 2700 dollars to finally realize that a 4l60e ain't got no balls. I'm wondering if a transgo shift kit woulda been better than whatever he used. A guy i used for years would use transgo shift kits, and those suckers would hit very hard, in second and third. OH WELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!

you must have a good one w pristine maintenance and very light driving. 4l60s usually need horses hitched up to the front of the vehicle to keep it moving anything past 150k, if you're lucky.

Ran into some transmission issues after doing it my self, mechanic told me it might cost me 1000 dollars to fix. I think I might’ve put the wrong filter on and the trans is just starving for fluid, hopefully changing it back to the right filter works. Fingers crossed. This video might’ve just saved me hundreds
