I didn’t like the way the transgo hd-2 wants you to put an external line pressure relief valve on the valve body. Jake from Jake’s performance said he’s seen more than a few of those relief valves stuck open causing a burn down of the unit. I removed all that crap and plugged the holes with some 3/16 aluminum rod. I ordered a sonnax boost valve that fixes the issue that creates the excessive line pressure increase it uses the stock springs and includes a new end plug with a o ring to seal a worn bore letting fluid leak and making the pressure rise. Sonnax part # 34200-03k. You can also use the P#4l80-lb1 Also didn’t like the weird 3 piece VB seperator plate so I ordered a new ACDelco plate off Amazon for 10 bucks. Then went back into the center support and removed the second seal ring and pulled the inner seal out of the direct drum for dual feed. Plug the reverse feed hole in the case with a .375 plug. I kept some of the springs from the hd2 kit and I kept the HD intermediate snap ring. I also used a rear case thrust washer inside the rear planet with a .015 shim to take up some of the slop on the rear planet. I dont trust that damn relief valve at all. Nor do I trust the hd2 boost valve and spring setup, if that boost valve was correctly engineered you wouldn’t need the sketchy relief valve, Edit: My opinion for the hd2 kit is that for people who want a better shifting unit without removing it from the vehicle it is a good kit. I just wish I had ordered the sonnax sure cure kit in the first place and saved some money.

Thats a great comment with a lot of extra details we can all learn from. I didn't do every step in the Transgo kit either because I know a few things (especially that relief valve) are not necessary and can cause bigger problems.
