4R70W- A Look Inside a Big Name Reman Transmission!

In this video we disassemble a Ford 4R70W / AODE this is a Jasper Rebuilt Transmission that was done years earlier. Be prepared to see some Ford transmission carnage..
At IPT Performance Transmissions, we sometimes do things for our customers that are off of our regular menu.
The vehicle is a 2001 or 2002 Ford F150 pick up, and while it's not a performance build, we are doing several upgrades to make this a much more heavy duty transmission, suitable for towing and plowing snow.
Ironically, we have another 4R70W transmission out of a Mustang drag race vehicle here as well that was built by a big name performance transmission rebuilder- we are going to take apart rebuild it and test it. Stay tuned for the upcoming video, which I will link here.

10:30 I love the old cast drums used in say the early to mid 90s AOD-E....stamped steel will never hold up like old cast...

Hey man. I have a 4r75e in a e350 2007. Have you heard of them trans vibrating like CRAZY grinding Howling u joint sound. Its bad. I had the same thing happen to my other e350 van. This time im buying a remanufactured trans. I just pray its the problem. The trans is making a humming sound from front of trans pan. The output shaft has tons of play too. Just wondering if you ran into this problem. Thanks great videos bro. Ur a genius.

I love how trans rebuilders always trash other rebuilders...like everything they do they NEVER have a problem....

I can fix a manual, I cannot fix an automatic in the course is just out of sight sometimes the vehicle isn't worth it

How would a junkyard transmission be better than a properly rebuilt one? And with the exception of the E4DOA, Ford makes a pretty solid transmission.
