Cool and that's a lot of work. I have the LRA tundra 46 gal, one man install, did it on the driveway. Although mines not an aux tank so no need to plumb it to existing factory tank. I'm seeing some comments on just carrying Jerry cans or in bed transfer tanks...been there done that, I'd rather have a larger tank and range than getting out and 'refueling' with Jerry cans. In bed transfer tanks is also a no go, cant do it with a topper and don't want to be carrying fuel in the bed with cargo. Did a 2500mi roundtrip to Yellowstone with a modded 17 mpg highway 1st gen taco and a 18 gal tank.....never again; carried 2 5gal waverian Jerry cans and stopped at EVERY gas station. Having a larger tank with range woulda made a world of difference. Also an FYI, my tundy 46 gal range is at 650+ on summer blend...80/20 hwy/city. LRA tank worth every penny.

Noted that they bolted the tank directly to the cross members. You will have to look at the stress it will put on the welds on the tank. I had a sub-tank attached to my 100 Land Cruiser and instead of bolting it directly to the cross members, the tank is hanging in metal hoops that is then bolted to the body. This allows for "movement" of the tank without stress on the welds.

We have a Tacoma, used to ride 38" tires on it, had a total fuel capacity of just over 58 gallons without any outside jerry cans. Use it for snow wheeling here. One issue we had was that it was attached to the frame without enough ability to flex with the frame, the attachment points then started to leak. Then we decided to go bigger and made modifications to fit 44" tires on it. Had to body lift it to fit the larger tires and cut into the body a bit. The body lift was just under 2 inches in total. This meant that we could fit a larger tank and also fix the leaking issue. Now we have just under 69 gallons of tank capacity and have fixed the fuel issue. Sometimes we use most of the fuel over a 3 or 4 day trip in the highlands, that is because of some very very deep snow and having to drive with lockers engaged, 2 or 3 psi in the tires and making full use of the extra transfer case for ultra low gearing. Other trips we return having only spent 40% of the total fuel brought with us because the snow is hard packed and a much easier trip over glaciers and in the highlands. Happy trails.

Too much ground clearance loss! At the last bend toward the bottom, I would eliminate that portion which looks like it would gain (3 inches?) and still give you an extra (20 or so gallons?) which would still be a huge improvement over the stock capacity. Also, 33 gallons of extra fuel weighs about 200 pounds whereas 20 gallons would only weigh 120 pounds, that's a big difference when that weight is behind the rear axle. Since the original gas tank holds around 23 gallons an extra 20 gallons would increase capacity to 43 gallons. At 15 mpg the range would be 645 miles and at 19 mpg the range would be 817 miles. That's plenty of range.
