Very nice flights! This 4s 6s debate has been around far too long. It all boils down to what works for YOU. My own opinion, in this particular flying spot, youre fine flying 4s, where as a tighter proximity flight you might want something that will snap you out of trouble quicker, which would be the 6s. With that being said, you might want the opposite, the tamer throttle resolution in the tighter proximity, 4s. You can always tweak the radio throttle curve for a 6s!

In German: Eigentlich musst du die rausgeflogenen mAh als idealen Vergleich rechnen, ich habe auch alles auf 6S umgestellt, auch meine Wings. Bei meinen Quads hatte ich bei identisch rausgeflogenen mAh tatsächlich die doppelte Flugzeit. Habe auch den Ethix Alien. Wenn ich damit in den Bergen mit nem 1300er Akku 950 mAh rausfliege komme ich auf gute 10 Minuten Flugzeit mit GoPro oben drauf. Beim Wing ähnlich. Mit nem 4s 1600 mAh Akku habe ich bei idealen Bedingungen mit dem Wing 20 Min rausgeholt (2,5 A Stromverbrauch beim Cruise, ca 70-80 km/h). Jetzt an 6S komme ich mit nem 1000er 6S Akku auf eine halbe Stunde Flugzeit, sogar eher noch mehr und habe einen Stromverbrauch von 1 A beim Cruise. Klar muss man die Wattstunden berücksichtigen aber P = U x I und wenn wir bei identischer Leistung fliegen, (was durch eine geringere KV Zahl des Motors realisiert wird) und mit der Spannung hoch gehen (was bei 6S ja passiert) sinkt automatisch der Strom, was zu mehr Effizienz und letztendlich zu einer längeren Flugzeit führt. Alleine mit den Wattstunden zu rechnen ist Schwachsinn: Hier ein kleiner Test. Nehmt doch mal zwei identische 1000 Mah 3S Akkus, fliegt sie einmal in Reihe, und einmal Parallel => Ihr habt identische Wattstunden aber einen enormen Unterschied in der Flugzeit ;) Und selbst auch dann wenn ihr einmal einen für 3S idealen Motor nimmt mit hoher Kv zahl und einmal einen für 6S idealen Motor nehmt mit niedriger KV Zahl. Ich glaube ich muss darüber mal ein Video machen, um diesen Irrglauben zu besänftigen :D In English: Actually, you have to calculate the flown out mAh as an ideal comparison, I have also changed everything to 6S, including my wings. With my Quads I had with identically flown out mAh actually the double flight time. I also have the Ethix Alien. If I fly out in the mountains with a 1300 battery 950 mAh with it I get a good 10 minutes flight time with GoPro on top. With the Wing similarly. With a 4s 1600 mAh battery I got out 20 minutes with the Wing under ideal conditions (2.5 A current consumption with the Cruise, approx. 70-80 km/h). Now at 6S I get with a 1300er 6S battery over half an hour flight time, even more and have a power consumption of 1 A at the Cruise. Of course you have to consider the watt-hours but P = U x I and if we fly at identical power (which is realized by a lower KV number of the motor) and go up with the voltage (which happens at 6S yes) the current drops automatically, which leads to more efficiency and finally to a longer flight time. To calculate with the watt-hours alone is a nonsense: Here a small test. Take two identical 1000 Mah 3S batteries, fly them once in a row, and once in parallel => you have identical watt-hours but an enormous difference in the flying time ;) And even if you take a motor ideal for 3S with a high Kv number and a motor ideal for 6S with a low KV number. I think I have to make a video about it to calm this misconception :D

In my opinion : When “comparing “ 4s vs 6s it’s not an apple to apple comparison. It’s more of an upgraded “setup” comparison. It’s not that vital to have the exact KV, MAH... it’s simply using a 6s “setup” that would compare to the 4s “setup”.. Steele is NOT saying it’s an exact apples to apples comparison. He was saying it’s a comparison of a 6s setup (which was calculated for a better flight time and approximately the same feel) with his current 4s setup. I don’t believe it’s hype, I see top pilots looking to improve their flight times, and push the technology farther. I’ve been doing the same testing and have came to the same conclusion, both with 6s and with more capacity 4s packs and higher KV motors ... Also to be honest I feel the difference in the weight and I’m liking it. Also the yaw authority is a LOT better, there is no argument, it’s better. Again this is MY experience, it’s MY opinion. And as someone who has 9 Kiss v2 Aliens as my fleet, believe me I did not want to buy into the 6s “Hype” and upgrade all my quads. At the end of the day its comparing one setup vs the other. And yes, I’ve switched over all mine to 6s. Simply for the lack of battery sag, and the increased flight times, and the fact that it’s overall less stress on the equipment. But that’s just my 2 cents. C-ya. ✌️😎

I would go 6S motors but my frame doesn't support it. I need an all in one ESC and the F722. I'm putting the DJI Ocusync on it and calling it a day after putting iNav on it. I know I can just get a new frame but I like the way the lights are setup on it.

I don't know why everybody compares 4S 1300mAh with 6S 1000mAh Lipos (or maybe they do just to keep the keep the industry rollin) ... 6S 1000mAh has 15,625% more Energy than 4S 1300mAh Just use equivalent batteries: 4S 1300mAh = 19,2Wh = 6S 867mAh 6S 1000mAh = 22,2Wh = 4S 1500mAh The one and only Setup to be compared today would be: Full Kiss + T-Motor pro II 1600kV + ACEHE 6S 850mAh Full Kiss + T-Motor pro II 2400kV + ACEHE 4S 1300mAh (or ACEHE 6S 1080 vs. Mylipo 4S 1600mAh) ... you will see there is almost no difference. P.S. especially in your setup you even compare a 6S 1700kV to an 4S 2345kV Motor... not even that's "fair"

Interesting Points. I guess most people compare that sizes because weight is similar and in the end, its a specific weight we're looking after that we know our freestyle quads fly good. For me this is 580-600g and both setups where roughly in that span.

@@Spinfast same weight is more important. Other then the math behind it (although I get the point), same weight = more flight time = a game changer for me! Prices for 6s have dropped to a point that the price isn't an issue anymore. So I will be switching to 6s

4s or 6s for long range cinematic footage? 4s or 6s for freestyle cinematic footage? I am looking forward to buy my 5" quad and use with GoPro 8 and Insta360 one x to shoot smooth videos would the 6s be better for like 1.5 Km round trip or will it be the same as 4s? with the weight of Gopro and the extra weight of 6s comparing to 4s quad, would the 4s beat the 6s on long range 1.5Km trip? I want to buy my first quad and I am confused... Please Help!

Would 3D flight be better on 6s? Keen to find out if rapid motor direction change is smooth on 6s maybe I can drop down or below 1000mah battery on the Warp Quad and still get 3-4 flights, I currently fly 4s 1300mah batts

Would be better if we could hear the motors on the comparison and not music... Anyway.. One thing I like better on 4s setups is the screaming of the higher kv motors don't know why but those low kv 6s on every KZbin video I see sound boring.. like I missed that sound.. :)

The DCS 2018 (Drone Championship Season) for us in Germany is 4S only. Next year, the pilots in the pro category will be allow to fly up to 6S. So the 6S trend for racing is finally coming to Europe.

I do not think 6s benefits freestyle. In racing it does. I was puffing 4s1600mah packs while my 6s1250 are much cooler. Plus I can finish a 2min race now flying even harder.

@@joofah Flight time is the same on 6s and 4s if you are not hard on the throttle, weight and watt hours are the same. 6s 1250 or 4s 1875 mah = 31.50 watt hours. Why change fc, esc, motors and batteries to 6s when you just need a bigger 4s for more flight time, or lower your kv on motors. It also depends on what kind of freestyle pilot you are. Batteries are the achilles heal in this hobby if you fly hard.
