@@jamesbond2905 The same here. I bought another VTX by Happymodel (combined with the same ELRS receiver, so I ended up using this little board instead of the two separate ones), but then after watching Joshua Bardwell's video I realized that I should have probably bought a more powerful VTX. The one suggested by TRONCAT FPV and mine can produce only 300 mw while to have a good signal at a serious distance your transmitter should produce at least 600 mw or better 1000 mw. In any case, the one I bought and used in my build is this: Happymodel Fyujon V2.0 2IN1 AIO module built in ELRS 2.4GHz EP receiver and OpenVTX I ended up returning the separate receiver because this combined one has exactly the same parameters, the same chips and the same external antenna for the receiver and the same VTX antenna.

It was because of your 2022 build that I was able to assemble my first drone, explained clearly, thank you. I only have one recommendation to replace this frame. The TBS Source one looks a budget frame at beginning, but it doesn't come with any TPU, you're stuck with the antennas hanging down, I lost 2 antennas because of this, the frame is also not compatible with HD, without adding other TPU parts, and each of this pieces costs around $10, in the end this frame is more expensive than a HLGRC for example or a SpeedyBee master v2. But the quality is good, it can withstand a lot of beating, especially the v3.

I will say my experience with the law and drones so far in Germany is positive - I was only approached by the Polizei once (before I was legal) and they were very cool and didn’t make a big deal about it. I hope it stays that way - Germany is a fantastic country for the photography and cinematic side of drones and I hope people fly responsibly and keep it that way.

Thanks for the great video and a question - I noticed that your final drone at 50:06 has propellers 1 and 2 set up counter-clockwise, while in the video you were saying that they should be turning clock-wise. I finished my build, following your directions 44:49, I clicked "Reverse". What is confusing is that after you click "Reverse" the direction on the chart in Betaflight Configurator is reversed and it is showing the opposite to what the motor is actually doing. My motors are spinning the same way as in the video tutorial 44:34 (not at the very end with props), I have not flown it yet and I am concerned that there was something that you did between the 44:49 point in the video and actually flying - like changing the settings for motor direction, and didn't include in the video. Please help. Thank you!

So many things to setup do , from frames , motors , control boards, ESC, wires and software updates and setup parms . This is the first video I have found that hits most of the above components, though it would be nice to get into why components are picked , I do understand that it would effect the size of the video. Do you have an estimated range for this by chance? (How far away the drone can be from the controller). Would there be a way to upgrade this simply with swapping some of the parts?
@TheTortuga5810 ай бұрын
Range varies by what you deem acceptable. Most of the time, your video feed will become "unacceptable" before your controller stops talking to the drone successfully. You can up your video strength with better antennas and running the VTX at a higher power. Sorry no numerical answer. If you want a guess as to how far the actual controller would maintain connection, maybe a mile. But like I said, your video feed (lack thereof) would likely stop you from ever getting that far.

Nice video. I just wonder, how good can you see small objects with such a resolution on goggles?

It's analog, so yeah it's harder than with a digital video system. But many people still fly freestyle with analog to this day, so there must be something that's good with analog... Get the right vtx antenna and goggles and it will be enough for everything normal human beings need to see :)

I already have a "Radiomaster Boxer ELRS" transmitter for my RC planes. I would like to get into the fpv hobby but can't figure out what goggles and drone I should get that works together along with the transmitter I already have, I also don't want something I will grow out of after a few flights. I would like to build my own drone instead pf buying one pre-built and I am familiar with DJI as I have bought a cinematic drone from them in the past, so maybe that's what you may recommend for my Goggle/Camera setup? Do you have any suggestions on what goggles and camera to get?

i'm brand spankin' new to FPV. I recently got a DJI Avata to introduce me into the FPV world and currently looking around for really simple, budget friendly ways to build my first FPV. I appreciate the step by step process you made! Would you say this is a more beginner friendly drone to build as a first drone coming from someone that has no experience? Or are most builds generally the same process?

Just got done building a drone based off this. Not at all budget because I went with an O3 setup. Thank you again for making such a helpful and easy to follow tutorial. I wound up needing to relocate the capacitor because of course the VTX for the O3 is much larger, so I wired that then placed it at the front. Everything else was fairly easy, and of course the O3 was plug and play effectively. One question if you have time please. I set DSHOT to 600 as you indicate, but after saving out it keeps on moving back to 300. No idea if this is a bug or maybe 600 isn't actually compatible and I didn't see it in your video so it goes back to 300? Again, loved this video, and love your channel. Thank you. I gotta get a couple of TPU parts for this baby to keep the antenna secure, then it will be time for a flight test!

How long roughly does battery last? And do I need to buy separate controller and gogles?
