For the flip up bed you could put a piece the same size as the top, but hinged in the middle and at the back towards the rear seat, so it can fold in half, miss the ceiling and then open back up!
@ThisWeeksWander3 жыл бұрын
I had that thought, but then decided not to because it would require me to unload all the gear on top, flip it out, then throw everything back in. It honestly wouldn't be much of a hassle because I have to move stuff to sleep full length anyways. My current setup is a bolt in panel that goes over the passenger side 2nd row. I have it semi permanent but can take it out with a few bolts. I leave it in though because I do alot of solo trips. Makes for a good nap spot on work luchbreaks too haha.

How will 35 handle on v6 ?? I’m thinking of slapping em on . But I hear some say it will downshift a lot and be slow . Others tell me they drive just fine on highway and trails no problem
@ThisWeeksWander Жыл бұрын
I think it drove fine with the stock gearing and 35s. I eventually went with 4:88 gears, but didn’t notice a huge change. It’s not a race car and weight plays a huge factor. If you have a light rig and choose light 35s, you might not notice a difference
@trebattle8563 жыл бұрын
Such a sweet rig! Thanks for the video. I’m looking at trading in my 2010 wrangler for one. There’s just always something wrong it. I’d more than likely have to get a 4th gen 4runner that’s older with more miles but it still seems like it’d last me longer with less maintenance than the wrangler. What are your thoughts?
@ThisWeeksWander3 жыл бұрын
Do it. You wont regret it at all. Look for a v8 for the cool factor. Plus those will be worth more for resale if you buy right. Nothing wrong with getting a higher mileage one. Make sure it wasn't beat. You might have to do the timing belt on the v8 and make sure the manifolds aren't cracked, but that's usually the only issues with higher mileage. V6 dont have as many issues with manifolds and they dont have timing belts, so a little less to worry about

Hey there.. i just sold my 06 wrangler unlimited and as a jeep guy.. i love that a wrangler can be fixed on the trail. I can drop the trans and re install in an afternoon. Just bought a 06 4runner sport with 147k on it. Body is great..rockers great no rust. Frame is rusty but i took it home for 3500 and i am very happy. It has the v6 4wd but still plenty of power. As a doe hard jeep guy, i know the downside to wranglers and what JEEP actually stands for (Just Empty Every Pocket). True statement. Good luck with getting a 4runner..this is a old post but i figured what the hell.

My question goes along about the snorkel. I have the V8 so it’ll probably want more air. But on your v6 did you notice any difference like it was starving or worse gas mileage? Been considering a snorkel for mine but don’t want to pay arb $550
@ThisWeeksWander3 жыл бұрын
I didn't notice any type of restriction at all. The snorkel opening is bigger than the OEM intake anyways, so I wouldn't think it would starve at all.
