Do you know if the suspension on these cars are solid enough to handle the stress of fast/sporty driving please? I see you stressing it so any feedback is welcome :D
@Apex_MZ3 Жыл бұрын
Yes it is! The front is a standard McPherson suspension which is plenty stout. The rear is a torsion beam which actually has fewer failure points over an independent suspension. You can always add additional aftermarket bracing if you are concerned. I’m sitting at 55k on the odometer and I drive this exact road twice a day

@@Apex_MZ3 by concerned you mean certain models? I' looking at the 2019 AWD version of this car looks epic
@DobbieZ Жыл бұрын
This car definetely takes a beating. Lowering springs and rear sway bar does decent help on the performance side. Just be careful with the rear sliding out on low traction mid corners, I think shitty stock tires are themain issue, but torsen bar may have also contributed to it. But this does not mean torsen bar is bad for performance, as the car corners really well if you know your gas/brake trails for a fwd car.

@@Apex_MZ3 Hey! i know im very late to this butid really love some advice, im a 2012 mazda3 sedan owner and have fallen in love with the aggressive handling and chuckable feeling of the car. Does the newer gens feel so light on their feet as the last one due to the suspension change? i just am worried to upgrade and fall out of love with the car because of it.
@Apex_MZ310 ай бұрын
@@veltal 2012 would be second gen. I owned a 2016 (3rd gen) and now this 2021 (4th gen). I would say between 3rd gen and 4th gen the steering is a little more numb on the 2021, custom suspension alignment is kind of limited on the 2021 as it has a torsion beam (it hasn’t been a issue to me handling wise), the 2021 has more power, overall I would still take the 4th gen over the older generations. It is only slightly heavier with mine being in the low 2,900lbs

@@Apex_MZ3 Thanks for getting back to me! Do you have any opinions on it? I'm thinking of getting it for my car, but I'm worried that it might be too loud for daily driving.
@Apex_MZ34 ай бұрын
@@csquared2330 it’s not super loud. If you’re cruising it’s pretty quiet. Once you step on it then it gets loud as it bypasses the resonator in the back. I have had a problem with 2 center resonators losing their fiberglass packing and making a mess on the back of the car. I know a handful of others with this same issue

do you notice the torsion beam in bumby corners aswell
@Apex_MZ37 ай бұрын
Yes and no. No if the suspension is already loaded during the turn. Yes if it’s not loaded up yet, but it’s predictable. I don’t mind the torsion beam, I actually really like it. It makes the car more prone to oversteer which is great out of the box
