Like you said I think proper field FPS limit can really help with game experience. I think in the USA a lot of the rule sets really help to expand the game by balancing hit pain level and weapon class. In USA a lot of fields allow SMG class with pistol caliber magaines to do up to 1J with full auto, indoor field usually caps at 1.13J, and outdoor standard semi only rifle class to 1.5J. For 7.62 or similar DMR class, fields limit range from 2J to 2.7J with 30m minimum engagement and bolt action sniper with 2.2J to 2.9J limit also with 30m minimum engagement distance. Some outdoor field also allow machine gun class to run 1.5J to 2.2J full auto with 20m minimum engagement distance. This helps to establish different characteristic for different weapon class and allow for a verity of experience while playing. 3J limit in Taiwan for field is absolutely insane.

Japan's joule restrictions should be followed around the world. I mean less injury, less wear on parts/gears = less expenses and more aesthetic parts budget lmao. Airsoft should be a gentleman's game in the first place. If you can't call your hits then don't play 🤣
@JedociderShou5 ай бұрын
I quit playing here in the Philippines because if you don't have a high fps aeg (and I don't like high fps aeg coz it's so hard to make it reliable) most players will just tell you they didn't feel your shot 😵💫

Japan airsoft should be the standard for airsoft everywhere. The joule limit really doesn't affect the games that much as there are plenty of bolt snipers in every game I go to. I have been playing airsoft here for about five years and I always have a good time with everyone greeting each other. One thing QUAD didn't get a chance to see is how much fun it is to introduce new players to airsoft here as its ALOT more beginner friendly.
Japan has higher altitude areas so if the field is in such an area then the air resistance against the bb is lower.

1 joule is more than enough for airsoft. Unless playing large outdoor war games where distance is needed. Especially in hot places and in the summer it means you can wear lighter protection without coming home covered in marks.

How was the language barrier? I was thinking the other day if it would be possible, as a European, to go play airsoft if I ever happen to travel to Japan. I don't know how common English speakers are over there. I've gotten the impression that fluent English is rather rare outside of Tokyo. EDIT: Also the fields I've seen on videos from Japan are mind blowing. There was one that was like a freaking garden. Small streams and bridges with lush greenery everywhere. Even the buildings looked really nicely built and not just plywood shacks. EDIT 2: Also, the way Japanese say "hitto", means "damn it" or "darn" in Finnish :D
Currently a lot of field in Hiroshima has English support instructions. Feel free to come and visit.
