great footage and very good training material I think. He tried to turn away from the major route of the track and that's what flipped him. seems if he'd just turned down hole, he would have stayed on his wheels. but then, hindsight is 20/20.

My only question is... do you always record your conversations when friend's call? 😜 LOL

A 20 min recovery took over 3 hours?
@snells-window6 жыл бұрын
Loss of all steering because he's braking. Keep off the brakes and accelerate as required to maintain steering.
@snells-window6 жыл бұрын
Fair enough, but then why was the car out of gear to start with? Should always be in gear, except when momentarily changing gears. Absolutely no control of a vehicle when in neutral or with the clutch disengaged...one of the first rules of off-road driving especially in hilly terrain.
@snells-window6 жыл бұрын
He had to drive to get over the hump initially so the clutch was engaged to start with; who knows, nerves, lack of experience, whatever caused him to brake and disengage...we all learn from our mistakes and I've certainly made plenty of them. Glad no one was hurt and hope the vehicle is back up and running without too much damage.

It amazes me how foolish you guys were to go 4wding let alone at Brunswick by yourself. That is the first thing you learn is never go out by yourself. This stuff gets people hurt
@snells-window6 жыл бұрын
Preferable to go with others but not always possible. If going alone at the very least they should have recovery gear including a handwinch. Rolled my old troopy out bush and the handwinch and a hi-lift jack were invaluable in righting it by myself
