Build the camera mounts into the dash so you dont have so many mounts stuck on the windows and so. Also provide power at the mount for those cameras

@@kriswigginsvideo My making fun of puffy lipped, attention whore women aside. I agree with your initial comment, my agreeing with you in my 1st comment would of rendered my self serving dig @ puffy lipped women nonsensical. I have driven for a living for 35 years & I hate those suction windscreen mounts for all of the obvious reasons. I have even gotten in to vehicles where they have bought the cheapest & nastiest mount/craddle on the market. It eventually falls off & wont suck any more (because it sucks) & then they spin the wheel o fish & silicon it to the dash or console & then when that falls of screw it into the dash or console with self tappers. Destroys dashes, damages devices & usually well before the self tapping screws the cradle mount has fallen of so many times that the cradle mech no longer works anyway. Over the years I have bought Ram mounts, while they are not perfect & hugely expensive, they are decent quality, ( I think there are a few others brands that do more high end mounts also) Of cause their quality & price won't save you if you silicon & screw them into your dash skin. It pays to fix it into the more significant dash substructure. It is worth the extra time & money to "mount" mounts some where other than the wind screen. But like you wrote " ah people do what they do".

This is great, I love 80s (as I love mine) and seeing one saved is always a bonus. They’re one of the best ever stock off-road vehicles, and when modded, they are the best. However, the rust you found under the rear glass should have been cut out and new metal welded or brazed back in. IMO rust like that cannot be stopped, only stalled, it will be back to haunt you. Otherwise, you should call it ‘Sooty Too’ or some such, ‘cos it ain’t ‘Sooty’. 🤣👍🏻❤️🇷🇴

Great build. You asked for some suggestions and first thing that came to my mind is rock sliders. Some bar work down low between the front and rear wheel flares will help complete the look and also help you protect the doors and fenders. It would be terrible to see all that work and fresh paint be ruined if you slipped off a rock and crush in a door.

Mate, it is a while ago you did this and a hint for rust prevention if no one has told you. I have a couple of old cars and I they are rust free. Peanut oil is the secret. Atomise it and spray it everywhere. Up chassis rails till a fog comes out. Up in door weep holes and watch the dust wick up the outside for weeks. Get it in everywhere you can. Do it every 12 months and you will have no rust issues. I know it sounds proper weird but it works. Be well Mitch.
