Seeing this has made me realize how far this program has come. Shaun, you are a mastermind, bro. There's no way ANYONE could have foreseen this trip when it was just a Aussie 4wd print mag. What you have accomplished for not only your domestic wheeling scene, but for wheelers all over the world is LEGENDARY. Graham, you are the friend that EVERY wheeler wants to have out there with them. Years of experience and talent has come through in this episode IN SPADES (even though you tried to kill Pete a bit) and your constant positive attitude and dedication to the team is exactly what the world needs right now. As an Aussie who is lucky enough to have spent plenty of time in El Dorado County and surrounds as well as other great Ca and US destinations, I can say that the US has far better natural environments than Oz, with Ca in particular being the crown jewel for its spectacular variety. I have traveled quite extensively on Oz as well and I think for me what really blew me away around Lake Tahoe/Northern Ca in particular compared to here was the sheer number of lakes (dams) with spectacular surrounds and scenery and the snow covered peaks. You just don't get that here, and the people you meet in US in general are more polite and friendly than Aussies as well imo (gonna cop some local hate for that, I'm sure).

Awesome trip guys. Love seeing our friends from Australia wheeling one of our legendary trails. The Great Mark Smith started the Jeep jamboree. The Jeeps started running the rubicon for actual trail use started in the fifties. Throughout its history Jeeps have been crossing in vehicles equipped with stock tires and even the Willys with military NDT tires. Any tire size can conquer the rubicon with the proper line and vehicle recovery gear. Not always easy but rolling over obstacles is no where near as much fun as working to get through the obstacles. So remember the old guys like myself have made it in stock vehicles. Goodday mates. After this adventure you’ll have some great pictures to put up on the pool room wall. Haha cheers

This was one of the most epic episodes I have ever seen. Bloody brilliant guys. Nothing better. Looking forward to the next one. 4WD24/7 need to do more of this. Come drive the trails in Africa. Van Zyl’s in Namibia, Baboons Pass in Lesotho etc. Happy to show you round 😜

It'll be interesting to see if Aussie 4x4ers will change their attitude about how capable Jeeps are after this series. Even a highly modified dual cab ute would struggle on some of the trails my Jeep walks up effortlessly and all I've got is 34"s, 1.5" lift and some swaybar quick disconnect links. These things are unreal.
@JamesSmullins Жыл бұрын
I'd like to see them take the jeep back and run their trails, they may have to go down in tire size though due to the laws there.

you know the jeep Rubicon is called that because it's done that trail straight from the factory. Used to come with 33" stock. . .

It is absolutely amazing watching you on trails we run! This trail is epic and this video was spectacular! You guys really catch the emotional roller coaster that is the rubicon. I’ve watched you so much that I run a front bumper cb antenna 🤣
@mmartian1969 Жыл бұрын
The rubicon is one of the must drive trails. I’ve gone through a couple times in my samurai when it was in 31’s. Seen it done on a lifted one on 28’s with no issue. The only problem you guys had is that high center of gravity with all that gear.

New to your channel and really enjoyed this video! I did the rubicon a few years ago in a jeep on 33s so I can relate! After that trip I did the modifications to run 35s. It's a brutal but beautiful trail. It was fun re living it through your perspective as aussies. Happy wheeling!

Good on y'all for being able to hit the premier US trail. The Rubicon is an amazing experience that will stick with you forever. Ran this 2 years ago with a '96 XJ, a front locker, and 33s. Smaller definitely makes for a more fun adventure.
