People who buy Baja Design fall into 3 categories. 1. Unlimited budget. 2. Care more about brand name than the price 3. Need the brightest option without compromise If I did a ton of night driving off-road I’d splurge for the BD but my 6” Harbor Freight Road Shock Edge at $150 are more than enough for most.

Nice informative video. I bought the Auxbeam spot lights a couple years ago because they were affordable and I avoid driving at night when off-roading. Mainly use the extra lights for poser photos. Anyways, the rust issue on the Auxbeams from my experience is the crappy bolt. I replaced my bolts and nuts with zinc coated ones from Home Depot for like $3. I cleaned and spray painted the bracket about a year ago. Put the zinc coated bolts. No more rust.

If you try Ultra nxt, you will know the difference between them. Ultra nxt is super! I saw a transport company mounting it on a new semi truck, it lighted up 3km and more.

Both are great light. I would definitely go with Baja Designs if I don’t have to pay for it. But if I’m buying one of them, it would be Auxbeam. I just wish they copied the design, Baja lights are just good looking.

Is it just me or did the stock Toyota lights illuminate more of the field than the pods? Unrelated have you looked at any of the NiLight offerings?

Followup question, are you planning to review any light bars as well or are you strictly using pods?

It did. Since the pods were in spot only mode and the pods are a much smaller form than the stock led headlight. That to me says that the stock headlight at least on my Tacoma is pretty solid.

@@4WDisLife my apologies I should have specified, I meant larger light bars 20-30" plus. I'm eyeballing a couple of 37" and 42" bars in install behind the grill of my Suburban to keep the clean look while adding some much needed nighttime visibility out in the dirt.

honestly, both are weak. Painted cast housing for either of those prices are nonsense. You can source Chinese factory direct, with a full CNC'd housing, for less. Stop paying for companies marketing budget!
