Damon showed so many faces in this episode and what touched me in this morning after scene was to see him with all the walls he built around his tortured soul down. He was ultimately relaxed. He - the one who had to learn to feel and to talk about what he feels - tells Elena straight into her face that he is happy. In this moment he did not only love her, for the first time in the whole series he seemed to be at peace with himself, too. No doubts about if he is good enough to be loved.

Finally!! Delana are together!! After all the struggles of admitting to their feelings... I think a lot of it had to do with Elena realizing just how much Damon truly loves her! All the sacrifices and putting her before his own feelings. Trying to always do right by her! Now that she remembers all that he compelled her to forget... now she understands him and gives in to her true feelings for him. She may have felt love for Stefan and all... but I think she is truly in love with Damon!!

If you compare this scene to human Elena´s first love scene to Stefan you can see how different that is. Elena watches Damon´s face when she kisses him (and is there anything better than seeing the man you are making love to indulge your caresses...)
