Came back to this to say Grady and his team's build philosophy is great. Simplicity and reliability. A build like this can be parked and not used for a while, and then when it's time to get back into it after a while, everything will still work and you wont forget how to turn everything on and off. Good stuff keep up the good work !

Super cool!!! Most vans and service truck diesels are detuned. Our f450 diesels are like 250hp less than a standard f250-350. We were told that it was for reliability. Love the fact that the 4x4 conversation was built with oem parts too.

Have you ever considered a high top Suburban or Yukon? Pop up or wedge style that you see on Defenders.

It's funny you mention that. Hopefully sometime in 2025 we'll have a prototype.

Most if not all 4x4 van conversion companies are using OEM components. Builders usually supply a spec sheet listing all components used.
@suboverlandАй бұрын
Some definitely do but in my research there were some companies that use some oddball components.
@nevrstopdrivinАй бұрын
The Quigley ford transit uses propriety first wheel bearing that go out the door at $700 each. So yeah…some have very expensive oddball parts.

Bad ass van. Best year for the duramax. The problem is when you need to have any serious work done on it. The dealership mechanics raise the complete body off the chassis to work on it. Diesel mechanics are expensive. But when you have a van.it always cost twice as much because working on an engine in a van .is a pain in the ass x 10. Ask me how i know... Great build.

Nice build. What is the out the door cost?
@stevethompson8154Ай бұрын
I'd be interested in this as well.
@suboverlandАй бұрын
This particular one was around $60k. It really just would depend on the options the client would be interested in.

Man, I would love to do this with a custom motorcycle transport interior with a built in winch and full width long ramp to for easy loading! Room to load up a few bikes into wheel chocks and then a fold down bed above the bikes!

What's the standing room in the "kitchen" area? I've been curious about high top vans. They're very reasonably priced compared to everyone else.
@suboverlandАй бұрын
It's a little over 6ft

@dimitristsagdis7340Ай бұрын
how much does the 4x4 conversion cost all in (parts n labour)?
@suboverlandАй бұрын
Just the 4x4 conversion is around $15k.

De-tuned because of transmission being lighter, I think…

That's a good point. This has the 4l80e not the Allison.

Grady nice looking conversion. Have you ever met Simon at @Foresty Forest?? He did a very cool conversion himself: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fp6WqqSrdrN_Y9U , kzbin.info/www/bejne/fYrSdYueishkgpY , & kzbin.info/www/bejne/lX-maWqJjcSEnq8 . I would like to believe that you and Simon could create some great synergy on a future build. I look forward to your next project.
