Iron Chest is known as one of the oldest hard core 4x4 trails in the state. It and the one next to it, Grizzly Gulch, are the two hardest trails in that area and both have claimed lives of off roaders. Several years ago, they took the rocks out of the rock garden to retrieve a bunch of old mining equipment and scrap steel. When they put the rocks back in they made the road a bit tougher. I rode Iron Chest on my Blaster several years ago, but never imagined doing it on one of my bikes. It's much easier in my Jeep for an old guy. Kudos to you for making it up the trail. Probably 90% plus trail riders won't even attempt it on two wheels.

Looks like that trail has gotten a little bit gnarlier since I was there probably 20 years ago 😂
