I agree. I think that van is much better for weight distribution than a pickup, it'll help a lot out on the trails for sure having a better front to rear weight ratio.

I converted mine with a F350 front end, replaced my front I beam with the solid axle. Installed the the transfer case and regeared the Dana rear end and added a rear air locker and front hub lockers. Switched out my 351W for a 408W. Have a high idle kit as well. I like the side ladder and roof rack.

Sounds like a killer project! I’ve a 351w powered e150 swb conversion van that I’ve been wanting to do a similar treatment to. Did you have a difficult time smogging or registering the 408 stroker? Also, how is the ride quality and bump steer on your front end? Thx!

Sounds like a hell of a rig. And 05 up f250-350 could fron axle nearly bolts into the van like it does the trucks. Can get the whole set up for near 800 here. Done the swap 3 times

That's a great price for the conversion. Quigley is in the neighborhood of $15K just to convert and they are so busy that they no longer do older used vans...only new ones. When your van rolled out for the reveal, my eyes popped and I said "Holy sh!t!" Great job finding AJ and good luck with your monster truck! Excited to see what else you are going to do with it.

Now they do convert used Transits, but for most people factory AWD Transit is more then enough.

I have a 2001 E450 shuttle bus that I converted into an RV. Bought her off craiglist for 3k. Love this thing. Got a rock soild 7.3 powerstroke. All she needs is 4x4.

Bought Big Red.. 2008 E 350 Super Duty from Art back in January..get compliments on it all the time..love this van!!!..I think my German Shepard Ziva likes it more than me..drives and handles great..big fan of AJ'S..

I’ve tossed around so many options for a family overlanding rig. I think a 4x4 van with a pop top is an excellent option to carry 4, sleep 4 and haul gear. I’m excited to watch this thing be built out!

$9,000 for a turn key 4x4 conversion!!! That’s an excellent price!! I’m super stoked for you Jason!! I’ve always dug 4x4 vans and these guys make it affordable. You couldn’t come close to that price here in Los Angeles. The whole project came to together and it just looks bitchin. Super smart to have the tranny gone thru and upgraded and coils are the way to go! Death wobble can be dealt with by proper adjustments to the stock Ford settings for toe and camber. Good luck with Sasquatch and years of taking it on continuous overland adventures!!!

Awesome build, need to get some soft rubber mud flaps all the way around to protect the body and then insulate the interior to help with noise and heat retention . I put ARB lockers front and rear and i relocated my fuel tank to the rear where the spare tire was between the frame rails 45Gallons. Safe travels as always!

What a completely awesome video! I have always wanted an E-350 4x4, since seeing my first one years ago. This has changed my whole perspective on my perfect rig - a truck + travel trailer, carrying a Kawasaki Mule 4x4 and a Kawasaki KLX 250 dual-sport bike. Now I'm thinking of a 4x4 Sprinter van conversion to living space, pulling a flat-bed trailer with the Mule and KLX. Could be the perfect set-up. Thanks again and, Keep On Truckin'

Looks great, congrats! Loosing some space in the gas tank is a big deal as mpg goes down after 4x4 conversion--I know from personal experience... Carrying some 5gallon extra gas cans, given where you go, will become daily routine. Thanks for sharing the work, $9K is a really fair price from ajs. All the best, safe travels.

Congratulations. Thats awesome work and great documentation. I feel like most shops wouldn't want to spend extra time stoping for filming and stuff, but this information is great and I think other shops should be open to allowing content creators to work with them on documenting the install procedure. I think its beneficial for both parties and it makes great content. I cant wait to see this thing more videos!
