Its pretty much confirmed from the world quests that xbalanque is the first pyro archon and created the rules of natlan such as the succession of the pyro archon and the pilgrimage of the sacred flame. It is also mentioned that when a natlanean dies, their soul returns to the night kingdom. When mavuika failed to revive kachina, she says the wayobs cant find kachina's ancient name. Meaning that the ancient name allows the wayob to look for the soul in the night kingdom and guide it to return to the real world, this is the ode of resurrection. It is still clear what the oath 500 years ago is. From the saurian companion world quest, the sage of sacred flames also mentions the same oath with xbalanque. Its the same oath since the sage said that the oath was made 500 years ago. It is weird since xbalanque should already be dead 500 yrs ago, although the sage could still be alive since hes a dragon.

Giving how many they hinted xbalanque is not actually dead but just go in the sacred flame on the end of his rule I wonder if one of the power of pyro archon is the ability to self ressurect so Mavuika is not the first one to do it I mean xbalanque borrow power from heavens or shade of death to create rule for natlan

Interesing thing about the Ode of Resurrection is that use the power of singing and music to bring back someone back to life, using the past as gateway towards the present, which seem Natlan also is able to use the power of Musical Universalis. Funny enought, the past, present and future being all simultanous was mentioned in the Time Treckker, a scifi book from Fountaine. Neat!

it's not simply the music, but the entire ritual itself, including the poetry behind the music and the names, fontaine and natlan brought the concept of how powerfull a name and the words are

The way Natlan treats the traveller and the abyss, seems to reaffirm the traveller is Imaginary, and the Abyss is Quantum fuelled. For those who only play genshin, across the hoyoverse, two commonly recurring elements, are quantum, and imaginary. Imaginary, associated with golden glow, and quantum associated with deep dark purples and blues. When brought together, they have a creation called annihilate. Fontaine introduced us to what i think was a direct look at the sea of quantum, the primordial sea, gave us pneumaousia as yellow and dark blue/purple annihilating energies, gave us a character who straight up made the hoyoverse elemental symbol for quantum, and... looking at the character designs, we've had both an imaginary (traveler) and quantum (Dainslief) character with us since the Teyvat chapter preview. I think these elements are coming. They're teasing them so they won't feel like a big deus ex machina when they're dropped in a dream yet to be dreamed, and yet, people will accuse it of being just that.

To me this feels like Natlan is mimicking how celestia instituted the 7archons and vision system, however instead of the light element being divided into 7 elements, it's the pyro element being divided. and the Wayob acts as archons while ancient names are analogues to visions.

I do wonder if the night kingdom is more of a "real" place than Natlan itself. We see nail(s) there, and a seelie in the escape sequence. Pretty sure there are no seelies in the regular Natlan overworld. Maybe it could somehow relate to why people lose memories and such when leaving Natlan, the power of the Wayob, and how people can revive. Not really sure, just some vague ramblings I had lmao

4:50 it's not abyssal lettering, it's teyvat's ancient language, the latin, used in enkanomiya, chasm, khaenri'ah, in the old ruins, protecting chests etc... since ochkanatlan seems to be from the old civilization, it's pretty clear they and things from this time will use the ancient alphabet.

To me, everything in natlan seems to imply (specially if you have done the saurian world quest) that this nation used to be ruled in union by a human, and a dragon called the sage of stolen flame. Between them, they stole the dragon authority of fire from the dragon sovereign, and as such basically created an archon seat before those were created by celestia, which would explain why natlan has humans ascending instead of gods. I think the human in question is the oft referred to Xbalanque.

While it may be semantics( and maybe the fault of the german translation, with the term used being "wiedergeburt" - rebirth - which can imply both rebirth and ressurection), when I played the Archon Quest, and Mavuika revealed to have sacrificed herself to the sacred fire, I initially understood it as some kind of rebirth, where she was literally reborn as a new person that happened to resemble herself 500 years ago, and reclaimed her ancient name through the wayob( hence regaining her old memories, which would fit, with what we have seen with Mualani and Tupac the giant) However, when I discussed this with a friend of mine, it occured to me, that she could literally have been ressurected by the same process as the Ode of Ressurection.( in this case her Ancient Name was directly entrusted to the flame, rather than the wayobs, protecting her soul from erosion for 500 years, potentially weakening the flame in the process, and having her emerge from the flames, when the reign of the latest pyro archon after almost 500 years was coming to an end) -> has her plan to save Natlan potentially doomed it as a self fulfilling prophecy?

the photo of the natlan main city is actually shown in 5.0, you can find it in the cave near the city through an obsidian themed entrance. But it is a trail chamber where you beat 8 mobs to get 6 chests. sorry for bad English
