Oh, I agree - but mainly because the classical square came about out of the practical consideration that you can fire between, but not through, your friends to hit your enemies. To compare sheer destructive capability without worrying about practical considerations reminds me too much of The Deadliest Warrior.

The spartans are actually not looking like that. They have bigger shields and they are attacking like turtles - they are making a turtle form whit their shields, so the bows can't kill them.

What I don't understand from these videos is how the Americans in the middle can fire their weapons. It's not possible to be in the center of a formation and fire your weapon without hitting one of your own men. if anything, they should be arranged in a tight circle, but what do I know? I'm just a dude on KZbin.

As long as the ones with firearms have unlimited ammo, no reloading time and can shoot through themselves from the middle out without dying it doesn't make sense....attack distance of sworded men is like 3 meters and gunmen it's like 300m.

It is not only about numbers, the battles are too simple, there are almost no animations and all units look and act like the same. It doesn't feel realistic at all. Sorry for being a "hater" but if you don't fix that people will get bored soon.

Its not realistic at all. Thompson SMG's didn't have endless magazines and Spartans don't take 100+ bullets before death. I don't care how good a Spartan was compared to other forces: Bronze armor and shields wont stop bullets. Realistically the US would lose few if any men while the Spartans would be eradicated. Anyone who argues against me is saying a spear and shield is just as effective as a modern firearm and is in clear need of a mental evaluation.
