Beautiful chart thank you for sharing I am liking the dolphin from weeks dye works. When we get home I will be checking to see if I already have it. I do t know if you feel comfortable about choosing new colors for a chart, but I am interested in learning how to do that. Like for the JBW design she released at Market this year I think the birds are called Ezra or. Something with an “e” I would like the birds I. Another color so they pop more on the fabric.

Hi Julie! Loved your video. It constantly amazes me how the different fabrics makes such a difference with the floss colors! Question: What is the smallest border of fabric you would need to frame a cross stitch piece? You have probably answered this before but I have a pattern I want to do on a certain fabric and I'm not sure it will be large enough to use. Thanks so much! Have a great weekend

Hi Julie, the fabrics you showed are very pretty, I think I liked Dolphin. But my favorite was your favorite, that blue floss made the blue in the fabric pop. So very pretty! Question of the week: What is your favorite floss to stitch with and why? You and Dan have a lovely week!

I really liked almost all of the fabrics choices. Among my top favourites are Bramble, Vintage Cedar Board and Dolphin. Question ideas - How would you describe your favourite stitching colour palettes? What is the one stitching thing you wish you knew when you first started that you know now? Favourite needles and why? Apologies for any suggestions that repeat previous questions. I am relatively new to your channel.

HI Julie. I think I'd stitch the chart of the week on the 36 count Boston. I really like the way the floss colors look on it. A question you could ask would be "what is your favorite/preferred fabric to stitch on and why" or even "what is your preferred fabric stitch count to stitch on". Can’t remember now (wow getting old wreaks havoc on you memory!) if you asked this question already in Q of the Week. Do you have a preferred time to stitch? Then: Do you love or hate specialty stitches? Do you have a favorite specialty stitch? Or: Do you ever find yourself drawn to a piece that is totally not your wheelhouse? Questions are hard to think of for some reason. 🙂

Ohhh so many beautiful fabrics! I have a question for you. How do you decide whether to stitch a design on linen or an evenweave? Are there some designs/charts that are better suited for evenweaves rather than on a linen? Does it give a different look? I stitch mostly on linen but have wondered how stitchers who stitch on both decide which is best for different projects...pros and cons. Are charts like Miras, Bella Phillipina, Gendon Place,...better on evenweaves? If so, why? What designs would you recommend be stitched on evenweaves vs linen? This would help me a ton when buying fabrics. Thx.

You showed some very nice colors - I did like the last one especially (I never remember the names of them 2 seconds after you say it!). "What is a bucket list wish of yours - stitching related or not?" might bring some interesting answers. Weekend plans are to clean (yuck) and stitch and a baby visit once I finish working today! My favorite fabric is the Bramble for Kathy Barrick’s birds. I would like to know what people are doing when they purchase and begin to stitch a brand new chart from a very popular designer and there are multiple errors. In March I purchased a chart for my birthday new start and immediately began stitching after receiving all the called for supplies. Disappointment soon set in when I realized that many motifs that appeared symmetrical were not, colors in 99% of the border had occasional random colors, motifs didn’t line up and the spacing seemed random. The photo on the front of the booklet revealed that whoever stitched it had corrected some of the spacing. It was not a reproduction sampler. I just didn’t know what I should do because the designer is beloved by all and I don’t want to offend anyone or hurt any feelings. I love this piece so much, I made it my own by redesigning those areas that were bothersome, but I really wondered what most people do when confronted with multiple chart errors. Thank you Julie for starting the Chart of the Week again as it is so helpful.

Sorry I did watch the last video to the end. I like your arrangements of the antiques. On this one, I did like the fabric at the end, but I missed the name if you said it. I think you got so excited about it that your forgot LOL. Maybe one time when saying good bye to Dan you could say "Learn something". How many people are able to stitch in the car? I have never tried to do it with linen. Anyway, enjoy the weekend.

My question is …Does the difficulty of a pattern play into whether or not you stitch it? I don’t…I never look to see how difficult it is to stitch. If it appeals to me I’ll go ahead and try. There’s always google to learn a new stitch.
