Glad you are feeling better. I am waiting a week to get my second booster. I tested positive for Covid while you were sick. Not sure where I got it. Today I went to a children’s play with my 6 year old grandson. So fun. Tomorrow I am watching both grandsons so their parents can have a date. I cannot stitch without my magnifier even when I am stitching on 28 count. I liked the pattern on the last fox & rabbit fabric.

Hi Julie. Another good selection of fabric for the pattern you chose. My favorite stitching tool is a Dritz Snag Nab-it. Sometimes when I begin a new thread, as I stitch, the loose ends on the back get pulled to the front. (There's probably a better way to start). But this little tool that is a cross between a needle and a tiny drill bit, just grabs them and pulls them to the back. Best invention ever. Hope you're having a great week-end. We're having rain and more rain today in Cherry County, so the hills are loving it.

I love seeing all the fabric choices in your Chart of the Week videos and that you have a question of the week. I usually watch floss tube on my tv while I stitch but try to remember to go back to my iPad to hit the 👍 but sometimes forget to comment. I sometimes stitch in hand on very small projects but I need or prefer to use a hoop .

My favorite non-necessity accessory would be a toss-up between my System 4 floor stand and a magnetic chart board for my paper chart working copy. Thanks so much for showing so many fabric options for your charts of the week. Some day I hope to visit your store.

My magnetic board to hold the pattern and magnets to hold the place are somethings I really count on. I love the design you introduced today. I liked the Boston fabric to go with it. Someday... I really struggle with 36 count or 40: I have always been very near-sighted, and now I have the added hassle of focus in close work as I get older. I just can't do it, even when I use contacts, cheater glasses, and a magnifier. Cheers to those who can, but I have to settle for 14 or 16 count. Thanks for your videos: I enjoy them immensely.

Hi Julie. Glad you are feeling better. Sorry about the Grand kid illness. Just comes with those little burgers but they grow out of that soon! Love this weeks chart & would like to have that one. It’s so interesting when you show the different fabrics with the floss but thought the Chocolate Milk fab was different but really liked Boston one. All neutrals are lovely. MY non-essential stitching item is probably my Echo Dot so I can play music as I stitch. Like watching the Floss Tubes & TV but then I make mistakes it seems. So music is soothing for stitching. You crack me up Julie- the left stash when we pass & the spiders. Totally agree with you! Have a great week!

My favorite little extra when I am doing paper charts is highlighters and digital is also what I prefer which makes my iPad would my favorite extra. I use the Markup R-XP app and haven’t stopped learning its capabilities as yet. We, here in Florida are just starting our “rainy season” and the umbrella on the patio table is up and down all the time due to weather, not to mention the screened in patio has flooded once already. We got about 5 inches in less than an hour, which is very unusual. Want to encourage you in what you do, as I have subscribed to many floss tubers but always “watch” yours!! I have told you in the past how much I enjoy your take on matching patterns & floss with a variety of fabrics. I would hate to lose Pattern of the Week. ♥️

I’m glad you’re feeling better! I always enjoy the chart of the week. When I came back to stitching after 15 years I was thrilled with all the overdyed fabric and floss. I found evenweave and was proud when I graduated from 28 to 32 count and swore I would never stitch on linen. Now 5 years later I even stitch on 40 count linen (so far) but just as happily stitch on Aida or evenweave all counts 🙂. My favorite non stitching tool is the bee skep scissor holder from Carolina Stitcher’s husband. So pretty

Hi, Julie. Thank you for your videos...I know it is work to set up for them and all that to get to the final product. I always love seeing your fabric choices. My non-essential tool is a 8x10 magnetic board and magnets for paper patterns. Like you, I'm digital as much as I possibly can be. If a paper chart is my best route, out comes the magnetic board. So glad to hear that you are feeling better! Many hugs!

A highlighter to check off what I have stitched is something I have just learned to use when stitching a sampler. It keeps me organized and prevents excessive searching when I come back to project. We are having a BBQ with friends tomorrow. Yay! Happy Memorial Day! Take care and happy stitching.

The cross stitch accessory that I can do without but don't want to is project bags. I like material and incorporating the bags with my stitching is fun. My daughter from Minnesota is coming this weekend so will cook out and spend time with grandchildren. Really enjoyed the chart so I will be calling you to save me a chart. On another note I started from your first video and was enjoyable. Keep going.

I had to give your question a little thought. My favorite stitching accessory is my magnifier. It's been very invaluable to be since I bought it several years ago. My eye strain vanished immediately. Heh Julie. Just stumbled across your flosstube and so happy that I did. You have a great shop! Would love to make it to a retreat one day. It would be quite a drive but heh, have car, will travel LOL. Although some people would say a dedicated stitching light is not a necessity, but I would beg to differ. Hi! I’m a new subscriber to your channel who’s “catching up” a little bit, and if it’s not too late to chime in with a comment about stitching on 40 count fabric, I so agree with everything you said, Julie, and would like to add my own perspective as a brand-new stitcher on 40 count fabric…I was quite amazed to find that I could stitch on 40 count white Verdal, which is an evenweave. I never thought I’d be able to do that, but since I was successful with that, I also tried 40 count Dunes by Fiber On A Whim, and that was fabulous also! In both cases, I was using one strand of silk, with a size 28 needle, and it was a true pleasure. I’d say give it a try for sure…I think you’d really like it! 😊 Meline

Good Morning Julie, I think Fox and Rabbit's Ducksbury or the Chocolate Milk linen would be my top choices for Vintage Flowers. I really love the pattern you chose to show! I think my favorite fabric was Boston by Seraphim. I'm a little bit obsessed with scissors and love decorating them with fobs. I also keep a mini Ball canning jar to hold my orts, then write the year on the bottom and display them together. Gives me a little snapshot of the year's stitching.

I like my stitching space tidy, things all lined up and in order. But....I have to have a beverage, tissue in case I sneeze, in the winter a sweater in case I get chilly. I don't like getting up once I start stitching. Check list: did I visit the ladies room, is my pup ready for a nap, where is my phone. Oh my goodness after all that preparation I need a snack! I'll have to go through the check list a couple times before I settle in.

I love Vintage Flowers 2! It's one of the patterns I bought right away from Market. I liked Vintage Country Mocha but may have to checknout Boston before I decide. My favorite tool is a spring tension hoop. If that too "essential" then I would say a highlighter to mark off stitches on my working copy. I am currently trying to finish a 35 page project. I am so sick of it! I just want it finished! It's a gift so I feel I can't just throw it in a drawer & forget about it for a while. Anyway, there's no way I would want to continue without a working copy & highlighter to mark off stitches.

I liked your chart of the week. I do think the colors made it a little "patriotic" and that is a subject I do not stitch. My favorite tool is my magnetic board. I photocopy my chart and slip it Iin a sheet protector along with the board. Then I use the line markers to keep my place. Anything I am stitching from a paper copy is done this way. I have two large full coverage projects that are on my Pattern Keeper which is also very handy. Like you, I am also terrified of spiders!! (Also snakes and bats). I look forward to your videos every week. Thank you.

I was looking forward to the Vintage Flowers chart release, but when I saw it, I wasn't too keen about the colors. Maybe others have thought the same and that's why it hasn't sold as well..? It did look good on Boston, but I'm not much of a 'blues' color person. I would love to see it with a different color scheme...more soft, vintage-like colors. It's hard to pick just one stitching accessory. I love using my Bitsy Bobs that hold the loose floss threads and needles. Oh why, why was I there Friday and not Saturday?? I'm not so worried about spiders as I am the reptile shop up the street!! Seriously, as usual great fabric ideas.

I like my wood hoops and anything pretty on my bag I love a pretty needle miner. I forgot to answer last weeks I like stitching what I want. I stitch for me for fun for the love of stitching it’s not about getting a lot done it’s about the pretty floss and the beautiful fabric. I love it when you show all the pretty fabric and floss. Thank you for the great video. Have a great weekend.

I could not live without my plastic wood-looking hoops that I’ve ordered on Amazon. They give me the best tension. I also am pretty attached to my magnifier glasses/headlamp. This weekend we are gonna go for a swim in my dads pool and have a BBQ. Your porch sitting and visiting sounds lovely. Glad you are feeling better!

Glad you're feeling better :-) Favorite non-essential tool? Craft tweezers - they make it so much easier to get hold of thread ends for snipping or teasing out stitches while frogging. I bought a whole set of them off Amazon and keep a pair at both my stitchy spots. Question for you - What 32# linen would you suggest as an alternative to Lakeside Vintage Cedar Plank? I've been trying to kit up 2 Blackbird projects and have (almost) all the floss, but I'll be darned if I can get my hands on the called for linen.

Hi Julie, glad your feeling better! I like this chart, I have the first one, need to stitch it though. I liked a lot of the fabrics you showed today, I had a hard time narrowing it down. Have a good weekend! Stay well!

Oh, I remember when my grandkids were little - yup, this grandma caught every germ they had when I was around them. Miss them being little - don't miss the germs. A "non-essential" stitchy item - I know you mentioned you can stitch without a frame of some kind, but I have just bad enough arthritis in the base of both thumbs and without my hoop, it's painful to stitch and doesn't take long at all - so I really have to have my hoop! Otherwise, I can't really think of something. I do use Pattern Keeper (I'm an android fan) and it is wonderful, but I'm too old to figure out (or want to take the time to fiddle with it) converting my paper patterns in to it, so I'm fine with paper still. Yes, it can be more of a hassle, but I've stitched from paper for so long that it's 2nd nature! Stay healthy!

Forgot,.. My favorite tool is my armchair ( which I made ) pin cushion. It holds my scissors, my extra threads, and of course a pin cushion for my needles.

I really appreciate all your fabric suggestions, especially since it’s difficult to get the one that’s called for. It’s good to see what I can get that’s closest, but also inspiration to try something different.

Definitely don’t need my corner gage, needle minder or a floss drop fob. I have them all, the corner gage was a gift with purchase, but once I learned to make needle minders and fobs, well what can I say, they’ve become addictive.

This weeks chart is cute. I wrote down on my chart wish list. I really like the called for fabric, but I am more of an Aida stitcher and I would do it on 18 ct. my non essential tool is really essential for me. I am a hoop girl. I can and do small stitching in hand, but I feel my stitching so so much more even and prettier with hoop. Glad you are feeling better.

Loved the Dapple and Boston fabrics - they were just beautiful with the floss colours. A pair of magnifiers which clip on to my specs are great when my eyes are feeling a bit tired. Go get rid of that spidey! I’m with you - really can’t abide them. Thanks again for a beautiful choice of chart. 🐨

This may sound stupid but I have a hard time stitching on 14 count Aida. I tend to have to think not to stitch over two. I get there, of course, and it’s also the stiffness I hate. Are there soft Aida fabrics out there? Haven’t really stitched on it for years. I’m sad that your “stuff” will go in a dumpster. My family will probably do the same. Just watched a video where the you tuber went to an estate sale specifically for the woman’s stitching. I think my go-to, non-essential tool would be my magnetic board with the guide. Im getting used to pdf files but I’m much more comfortable printing out the chart and using my board. Hanging out in the backyard, stitching. Warm here on the east coast, finally. Feel good!

I purchased a piece of PictureThis Plus (I think) aida from Julie and it was soft. I did a large project on it and it just about drove me crazy! The fabric was very pretty but it was floppy and I had trouble with my stitches falling outside the holes. The finished project was beautiful but I put it in a box and who knows, I may never get it framed because by the time I finished it I never wanted to see it again. Maybe I'm the only one who has trouble with soft aida but I find it to be low on my list. Hopefully you'll have better luck than me.
