I am so glad you showed the book of patterns. I will be visiting the website soon. We usually get together with my two sisters and their families for the holiday. This year we did not, and I declared it a stitch all day day. And I loved it.

As a child we would visit the cemetery and leave garden flowers with loved ones. But I remember most that we would cut wild asparagus along fence lines for mom to cook later. Wonderful! Thank you for sharing the lovely fabrics.

Love Teresa Kogut! Her Hello Spring book & other books are such a deal to purchase. She has lots of patterns I love as well as other beautiful art. We visit the graves of our family buried locally & try to share stories of those who have passed. Trying to connect the present generation with those who are gone.

Loved your fabric choices. I learn a lot about selecting fabric and what to look for. We stayed home and had a small cookout. In 1977, I spent Memorial Day at a funeral for one of my brother’s baseball friends. He was killed in a car accident while he was in college. My dad went to the cemetery in New Bern, NC every Memorial Day to visit the grave of a dear friend who died while both he and my dad were serving together in Vietnam. He died when his helicopter went down taking war codes to Saigon. My dad was supposed to be on the helicopter instead. So, Memorial Day brings back some sad memories.

Thank you so much Julie for addressing the thread vs the pictured of Sweet Wren. I bought the suggested linen, Persimmon (which was dark orange-dark pink)and threads and was saddened when the items arrived. I love the Sweet Wren pattern, but was disappointed that all the called for flosses and linen did not resemble the picture. I even posed the difference on the TK patreon site.

I love the silver fox 18 count adia for the pulled threads. Never been a pink person. I agree with you on the darker blue also. Happy stitching.

Hi Julie: Good to see you again, it will look lovely on that fabric, like all your fabric choices, I like all the fabric, yes Dusk would be mu choice. I think pirating charts is a sin, we remember Flag Day all year long, we fly the flag on a pole with a night lite.

Hi Julie! Loved all your fabric pulls. We stayed home on Memorial Day. We used to go to the cemetery & leave flowers. But then we learned the flowers are removed a few days later. The cemetery has to clear out all the flowers first of the month. So we do pray for our loved ones & celebrate them at home.

I'm with you on the Dusk fabric, and would use that for projects, though I probably wouldn't stitch the wren, even if it isn't powder blue like the photo. We used to get together and BBQ with our dads who were both veterans of WWII. I know on Memorial Day the memory of men they'd served with who did not make it home to the lives they defended and dreamed about were on their minds.

When I had kids at home we always did something. Living in Virginia for almost 20 years we went to Arlington alot. Now we go to the Veterans cemetery to put coins on my son's stone.

I liked the first fabric until I saw the last fabric. That was my favorite. I’ve noticed more and more how colors in photos don’t match the floss colors. We stayed home Memorial Day weekend. I stitched a lot. Husband rested.

In my town we have a parade for Mrmorial day, I always make it a point to see it.

Hi Julie! Yay, a Chart the Day 🎉 How strange the Wren picture is so far off! Harvest Blessing is very pretty with the threads you pulled!

We usually celebrate my daughter's birthday over the Memorial Day weekend. I did not grow up in a family that visited graves either.

Dusk is my choice too. The lighter ones don’t do the colours justice (in my opinion). We have ANZAK day here (and in NZ) and would consider it a public holiday doing much the same as you do on Memorial Day. There are hundreds of Dawn Services around the countries which commence around 4.30 - 5am as well as huge parades in which many Veterans take part later in the morning - many of them televised. We used to be eager to get up very early and walk to our communities services but are getting a bit aged now to do that however the numbers of younger people doing so are increasing each year - a lovely tribute to see.

Hello! Normally we go to the cemeteries on Memorial Day. I love seeing all the flags and put a flag on my dad’s grave. I really like that book, but I’m a little disappointed the bird looks so blue and it’s not.

We don’t do anything special for Memorial Day. In the evening we like to watch the History Channel about wartime and maybe an old classic military movie. It’s a like a Saturday that we get work done at home. We don’t have cemeteries close by either.

You might have said this in a previous video but I don’t remember. Do you have any of those peacock charts that you are stitching in your store?
