Also, a good tip to share is if you find yourself running about during a boss fight, to keep your 6 stacks simply arcane explosion and it'll refresh for you, allowing you with the above advice to keep pretty much 100% mana (standing in rune ofc) throughout an entire fight Also use alter time to gain 6 more seconds on arcane power but only use it when you have 2 procs of missiles so you can dump them for free dps during alter time and gain them back again after.

I feel the same way. When he did the Blood DK guide I immediately leveled up my DK and is almost 90. Now I feel like starting a mage.

You probably want to use Living Bomb or Nether Tempest since the Elegon trinket cannot be triggered by Frost Bomb. The rotation I personally use is AB to 6 stacks and then change between blast and missiles, and if you don't have missiles you cast scorch. That way you never cast barrage, having you to start over with your charges. And you are always above 90% mana.

Nether Tempest - Main arcane bomb. Living Bomb - Use with glyph to spread targets on fights with more than 2 adds up for more than 1 min. Arcane rotation is nothing like what he describes. Atm pre 5.2 it's ab x6 > scorch > ab > scorch ab > missiles(proc'd) arcane power and focus on dumping missile stacks during this if you got the 4p

It's a shame what they've done with the Arcane spec. I played it during WotLK when the mana management first came in, and it was one of the best playstyles that has ever been in the game. It was fun to clip the last AM tick with ABar to get the benefit of charges for both abilities (though this was a bug). You could do massive DPS with AB spam, but you'd go OOM and do less over the course of an entire fight. Playing properly required using multiple different rotations based on your mana.

I do this too, i get 6 charges, alter time, arcane missile x2, arcane barrage, alter time arcane missile x2, arcane barrage. I try to make sure i have trinkets and arcane power up at this time aswell.

hey preach, my main is an arcane mage.....not sure if i am doing something wrong but my mana never seems do dip bellow 90%. any ideas?

About those your talents. I do like more about scorch because your mastery, mana adept. When yo go to 80-90%mana your is better to spam scorch for that time when you againg got that 100%mana. Its quite fast with help of your mana gem wich restores 45k mana instantly and RoP. And because my gear allows reforge haste into crit because mastery is basic stat in almost every piece of my gear, you easily crit 75k almost every scorch what you cast. I prefer that, but presence of mind is good as well.

hm, arcane blast to 5 charges then missile for the 6th and if u have a 2nd then use it aswell then dump the charges and repeat, if u reach 2 missile before 4-5 stacks then use it and go to arcane blast again so as to not miss a proc. thats atleast how i do it when i play arcane, pref fire tho. more fun

its not amount of mana you got, its important, but if u got enof speed u can regenerate mana very fast and take charges as well... arcane is based on speed spel ( very important) and mastery

Actually, for AOE dps Nether Tempest selective targeting isn't as powerful as Flamestrike + Arcane Explosion/Arcane Barrage at 6 stacks spamming. It's still a "meh" decision if you place it on one target using up 1 GCD every 12 seconds.

hey Preach, using scorch as a filler between when you have >89% mana would be scorch believe it or not. It costs .01% mana and it allows you to go back up to 100% whilst dpsing! But, in 5.2 Scorch will get a HUGE change and it will require about 3% mana I believe. So this will only be viable for a little while longer!

why not go with incanter's ward? more mana regen as passive (and you don't have to worry about standing on your rune that must be reapllied). Nether tempest can bli applied to multiple targets so it's awesome aoe (just put it up on some targets and then arcane explosion). other then that nice video.

Wrong. Why do you use your missiles before you got 6 stacks? Use if after and you will get tons of damage with no costs. Nether Tempest more single target dmg.

Nether Tempest FTW when absolutely positively have to kill every last muthfucka in the room... except no substitutes. Whether you clearing a room full of trash or taking down a boss this a terrific spell to keep in your rotation once i lay down my rune i spam as many mobs as i can with my tempest each target hit then aoes any trash it is standing next to- 7 targets with nether tempest all doing aoe dmg to each other + Mirrors + standard rotation 4 blast (pop alter time)-barrage and you got
