I just bought a '94 Johnson 28. I wasn't sure where the intake was. This vedoe helped me figure that out. Thanks for that! Why won't a universal motor flush devise that hooks up to a garden hose work?

Can I leave this plate on engine when I am using my boat? I need to flush in a salt water marina and want to make sure I don’t have to reinstall plate every time I flush.

You cannot. It’s only made for flushing.

Finally got around to using mine, it worked very well. I got to thinking about it, does it have to be a Mercury flushing adapter? Could a brass plumbing fitting be used that has a garden hose fitting that tapers to 1/4" or 3/8" male thread? Just a thought...

Good deal. Yes. I’ve changed the design to get away from the Mercury adapter. The plates have a 1/4NPT tapped hole now.
