These Brad Jersak interviews have brought me so much life and hope and have helped me go back to reading the Scriptures again. I am seeing Jesus on every page, laughing and even crying in His presence because of how good He is and how much He loves. He seeks until He finds and that’s such wonderful news. Thank you for sharing these videos

Bible Gateway, and Bible Hub are great. I also read the Mirror Bible by Francois duToit, David Bently Hart's version, and NT Wright's version. And ask yourself, what kind of Savior is Jesus if he only saves some? Jesus himself is the Telos, not any verse. He himself is salvation. Dr. C. Baxter Kruger, taught me that eternal life is described in John 17:3. We are having an awakening as to who God is, and who we are - his divine children!

Great discussion, I've grown to appreciate Brother Jersak's open-endedness on theological matters. I'd like to be charitable and suggest that our political system feeds on what Evangelicals have done over the past 50 years with the damaging contentiousness in the political sphere. I'm glad not to see Brother Jersak not embroiled in these culture wars. Having said that although I do not think it's a good move to engage in matters like joining the military, to insist that Christians not carry weapons for self defense is to capitulate especially to the ruling class in the US to hold a monopoly of those weapons and in turn have them used against their own citizens. Part of loving neighbor as yourself is to be prepared to defend yourself and your neighbor from an oncoming threat. Someone carrying out injustice that has a suit and a badge is no less a criminal than one who doesn't have either. Some brothers would do well to carefully read what Romans 13 says regarding these matters.

Was not the “end of the age” the end of the Mosaic (Old Covenant) which was marked specifically by the destruction of the temple (Matthew 24:1-3)?

As an Adam, all die, and in Christ, all will be made alive. All this means is that the good and the bad will be resurrected don’t you think? John 5: 29and come out- those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.

I agree but the question is what is that judgement? Is it purely retributive or is it ultimately restorative. Eternal punishment is a wrong translation of aionias kolasis and is better understood as the chastisement of that age. The God who is love never fails and will bring all his creation into willing submission to Christ. This is the Gospel and it really is Good News. Hallelujah, what a Saviour.

I like David Bentley Hart's translation of 1 Corinthians 15:22; "For just as in Adam all die, so also in the Anointed all will be given life." The New Testament (p. 347). Yale University Press. Kindle Edition.
