Good choice. I like the way it's fairly barrier blind but stops in soft tissue. I keep it for home protection too. 40sw is a great round.

@timjohnson8390 I agree. I wish 40sw and some other calibers were as high on manufacturers list as 9mm. Seems 9mm has shadowed everything else and that's a dang shame.

I see people always talking down on civil defense, but seriously, how can 50gr of 9mm at 2,000 fps not do ANY damage? I just picked some up for condo defense, this test makes me feel a little better about it. Thank you for uploading this

It's not perfect for every scenario but for self defense against two legged varmints its really good. It's barrier blind for the most part but when it connects with soft tissue has a come apart. I wouldn't use it for bear defense but for what you're using it for I'd say there's nothing better. Thanks for being here and commenting. Appreciate it.

Well my first impressions are good. I don't like the grip as well as the PSA Rock but I do like the sights better. The trigger is a very strong OK. The pistol seems well put together and I will do a full video on it after a few more rounds downrange. I saw that Tisas 45 you got. That's a nice looking 1911.

He had another video where Liberty Civil Defense 50 grain +P / 2000 fps round penetrated a car door after going through IIIA armor from a 3.7 barrel Sig. It makes no sense that a longer Glock 17 barrel wouldn't have at least the same result. Very contradictory videos. I'm very confused.

Not contradicting at all. The CD frags on soft tissue. When the civil defense defeated the level 3A vest the door was directly behind it so the bullet stayed in tact. In this video the cantaloupe caused the civil defense to frag leaving only the little disc (base of the projectile) to hit the door. If I placed the vest over just the door the glock 17 would easily proceed through the door. Thanks for the inquiry on how that happens. I would have talked about it more but didn't think people would want to listen to me ramble on about it in a video.

Why didn't people like liberty civil defense after seeing what it does

The 9mm folks don't like it because it's performance resembles the 5.7. The 5.7 folks don't like it because it's a 9mm that's performance mimics the 5.7. Neither penetrate deeply in ballistic gel yet both will defeat soft armor because of the speed. Some people.are just set in their ways and won't consider other options.

I like the 5.7 as much as anyone but I understand it has limitations just like 9mm and any other pistol round. I was excited to shoot the Tisas though. I think it's going to be a decent pistol. Thanks for watching and commenting. I sure appreciate it.
